A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
A friend of mine in-game earlier brought up an excellent point about the MU ships, they are a great way for an F2P player to get a tier-5 ship without having to pay Zen or dilithium for it, only ECs, and at the current prices, only a million EC at that if they aren't picky about the ship.
Are they all cruisers? Yes, which might not be everyone's cup of tea. But they ARE tier 5, guaranteed, with all the normal stuff you'd expect from those ships. Is it still a bit of a pain for an F2P player to get enough EC to buy one? Depends on the player of course. But a million isn't that big of an issue though, if a person was willing to really work on it. At the very least, DOFF missions alone would be good, if slow. Such as collecting contraband to sell, doing the resettle colonist mission and then selling the colonists, etc.
So, if you have friends/fleetmates who are F2P and are aching for a decent ship, I think that the MU ones are a great answer to help a lot of people get into good ships, without a lot of work, which in turn means more fleet members can do fleet missions, STFs, and so on.

Doff recruiting missions. With the current pricing on select white doffs, it's not at all difficult to work up the EC for one of the MU Cruisers.

T5 I thought that the ships were essentially the same stat wise? wouldnt that make it a T4 dressed as a T5? >.>
The normal Assault/Star cruisers are tier 5, and the MU ones follow that. Tier 4 ships are the captain level ships, like the normal Galaxy, Defiant, and Intrepid ships.
But yes the MU versions are virtually the same stat-wise. The only difference is that the normal ship skin is reversed on the MU version. So the Assault cruiser, instead has the Star cruiser skin. In turn, the Star cruiser has the Assault cruiser skin.
I do believe however that the MU ones also turn better than their normal counterparts.
And yeah, Beezle, DOFF recruitment is the best way.
I am a F2P player, and my Advanced Escort (Soon to be Fleet Patrol Escort) is dozens of times better than either of the Mirror Universe ships
Subjective opinion is subjective. I'd put a star cruiser against your escort anyday, tank your damage, then kill you because you're paper-thin and I don't have to put out high damage to kill you.

Why does tanking matter when you can't deal out any damage?
Explain why my MUAC tops the charts in terms of overall combat performance?
Oh right, I don't die. I'm faster than everything else on the battlespace with a SUSTAINED combat speed of 30-50 Impulse. I spam rapid fire every 9 seconds, and using new Season 6 ship construction techniques I have automatic shield and hull combat PASSIVE regeneration without the use of any Borg gear.
Escorts have roles. So do cruisers. Science ships can do a great deal of mayhem as well.
This is not a real life Air Force where fighter pilots call cargo pilots "Trash Haulers". Starfleet has use for all sorts of starships, big, small, old new, all have their roles to play.
And so do we all.
There's no need to start another "cruisers suck" thread. After all, if you knew how to use Engineering capability on the offensive, it's obvious cruisers do not suck.
Oh and btw, Killer Whale FTW. With some of the new procs it's an excellent defence suppression and threat control unit. 15++ combat turnrate without RCS accelerators.
STF Flight Instructor since Early 2012. Newbies are the reason why STO lives and breathes today. Do not discriminate.
The Mirror Universe ships are the exact same as their normal universe counter parts only the Ensign changes.
The Sovereign is exactly the same as the MU Sovereign except the MU has a Sci Ensign. All other stats are the same.
The ship you get at L40 is a T5. I don't know where the concept of it not being T5 came from. C-Store ships are generally considered T5+ but it's meant to come down to the better skill/build of the Player over who would win.
I suppose you could consider the 10 Console Fleet ships T5++. I'm thinking T6 will never come or simply upgrade a BOFF station.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why. When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.
