I am sure this is being discussed as a bug, but on certain maps, Particually, the Empire Defense "Romulans" the map has 2 large white "somethings" which lags bad....

I've been having that issue too. I've been seeing it in the Borg Alert missions too, along with a couple of others. I don't remember the names.

Perhaps the white swaths of lag will cause the end of STO much like the anomalies in TNG and Cryptic's painfully bugged adaptation of the IP will never have existed.

Yes. See this thread. Lot of people reporting same issue since S6 launch, yet no answer from Cryptic.
