In my opinion (opinion being the key word here)

If you want a fun ride steady rate of half decent damage(masses of damage with micromanagement of brothls BOPs) some wicked science tricks and subsystem targetting the voquv is in another league

If you want to fly a ship that deals damage and is focused more towards tactical go for the karfi only fault or should i say problem i found with this is you end up flying it like a raptor/escort which is fine because its capable of doing this but i just kept thinking my mirror qin can do everything this can and it can turn but thats just me its still a great ship especially when your running 15k shields on each facing its as mean as it looks in the pictures

p.s. the bop AI isn't as bad as people say all you have to do is THINK for example taking on a tac/standard cube have your bops cloaked behind you take down shield facing with your own weapons(beam overload works a treat or CPBIII) click the little attack button and watch the quantum fireworks annihilate the Borg scum then click recall/relaunch and do the same again

Forgot my build -

Shield manipulation build -

Tac Boff - TT1, HY2, AttPattOm1

Eng Boff - EmPwrToSh1, EPTS2

Sci Comm - Tractor beam 1, TSS2, Tachyon beam 3, CPB 3

Sci Le - Hazard Emitters 1, Tss2

Fore -

Dual polarized disrupter beams x2 Plasma torpedo

Aft -

Disrupter turrets x3

This is all pve i switch in grav well 3 and tractor 3 for pvp aswell as 6x beam arrays with beam overload 2

Don't bother with any carrier in general except the fed. escort carrier. That ship at least can do something on its own and is not dependent on its pets.

As a carrier the VoQuv is neutered due to the pet AI screwup. You can still play it as a sadomasochist science ship though.
I fly the Vo'Quv without any real problems. (KDF Science)

I use the Advanced Bird of Prey and the only 2 functions that matter with them are the Attack and Recall and they work fine.

You need to make sure that your build takes into account all the Vo'Quvs weaknesses.

100% Agreed

The Advanced Bird of Prey are pure win!

You just need to simplify the battle for the ABOP.

Keep the ABOP on recall after you launch them and once you've selected your target hit it with Target Subsystems Shields 3 then swith your ABOP to attack mode and watch them pop the target in a few seconds.

The ABOP also get the damage boost from attacking out of cloak

The trick is to not let the Birds wander, keep them on recall whenever they are not needed and they will stay in formation behind the Carrier.

My build drains power levels and weakens Shields

This is my Vo'Quv setup:

Fore Wepons:

2 x Fleet Disruptor Turret and Fleet Disruptor Beam Array

Aft Weapons: 2 x Fleet Disruptor Turret and Borg Cutting Beam

Bridge Offcier setup:

Lt. Commander TT1, APB1 and TSS3

Lt. Commander Engineering: EPTA1, EPTS2 and ET3 (15 second cool down)

Commander Science ST1, TBR1, HE3 and GW3

Lt. Science TSS1 and TR1

Special Consoles:

Borg, Subsapce Jump, Isometric Charge, Plasmonic Leech and Aceton Assimilator

The rest of my consoles are for defence

Hangers:

Advanced Bird of Prey (Best in Show IMO)

The Vo'Quv can slot some of the best skill combos that STO has to offer and can be quite a force to be reckoned with.
