Previous Ships:

- USS Albion (Miranda Class) - My favourite football team is Brighton & Hove Albion.
- USS Intrepid (Vesper Class) - I'd just visited New York and seen the aircraft carrier of the same name.
- USS Vulcan (Akira Class) - Named after a Cold War British bomber that I loved as a kid. Not to mention the obvious Trek connection.
- USS Seagull (Ambassador Class) - The aforementioned football team are nicknamed The Seagulls.
- USS Tribble (Galaxy Class) - I liked the idea of having a huge Galaxy-class ship named after a small, cute furball.
- USS Dragonstone (Regent Class) - I'm a Game Of Thrones fan, my favourite character is Stannis Baratheon and his castle is called Dragonstone.
- USS Knightmare (Gal-X) - My favourite TV show as a kid.
- USS Goldstone (Odyssey Class) - Brighton & Hove Albion's stadium for 96 years was the Goldstone Ground
- USS Gallifrey (Excelsior Class) - I'm a Dr Who fan, Gallifrey is his home planet.

Current Ship:

- USS Hawking (Mobius Class) - It's a timeship, so it seemed right to name it after a scientist who has worked in temporal stuff.

First ship was a mixture of a Miranda saucer and struts with Centaur pylons and nacelles called the U.S.S. Dorothy, because of a character in the anime series The Big O, R. Dorothy Wayneright. I just felt like Dorothy was a good name for a ship.

Just got my second ship, a Vesper cruiser that I decided to call U.S.S. Serenity, because, well, if you're geeky enough to be playing Star Trek Online, you probably know what the significance of that name is already.

Current ships:

KDF: IKS QIn (Breen heavy raider). Translation: Spearhead (because it's sharp and pointy, but fragile).

Rommie: IRW Vengeance (T'varo retrofit) (because my romulan character wants some payback on the Iconians)

Fed: Several of the best include ISS Evil Spock (mirror star cruiser) and ISS Evil Kirk (mirror advanced escort) on my Vulcan, because he looks great in a goatee and TOS mirror uniform.

Besides the aforementioned attack submarine, it shares the name with:

BB-45, the lead ship of the Colorado-class of battleships. Laid down shortly after the end of WWI, she served with distinction through WWII.

CA/ACR-7, A Pennsylvania-class cruiser, which blockaded German ships in Mexican ports during WWI and later ferried troops home. (renamed USS Pueblo in 1916 to free up the name for the planned battleship.)

And the first USS Colorado, a steam frigate built in 1856 which was part of the Union blockade force during the Civil War.
Thanks for the info. I didn't know my home state had so many ships named after it. Well, the more you know...

IKS QImmey Ho' is the starter ship for my new Gorn, Silisk. Since it is the starter, it is humorously named in Klingon (assuming the translator is right) for the first weapon a reptile ever wields. (translation: "Egg Tooth")

Most of my ships were named after famous ships in film and tv, like Sulaco, Roger Young, Event Horizon, Galactica, etc. But only a few ships I have are original names.

My current ship, a Mobius Temporal Destroyer with all temporal warfare sets, is called the I.S.S. Retrocausality. I named her since 1.) Causality is a time ship name, and 2.) the ships is from the mirror universe, so the name can be reversed. thus, "Retro" was added to the name.
