i don't think making them as big as they are was a good idea, ship sizes should have peeked with the galaxy and negvar. the game is over saturated with huge slow turning cruisers that have nothing but size based disadvantages with their movement ability, wile smaller ships seem to get movement advantages and no disadvantages.

an odyssey that was only a bit bigger then the sovereign, in a scale like this would have been better.

you could believe it could have an 8 or 9 turn rate, and would be much more fun to use. the current size based extra hitpoints will give you about half a second extra before you die, it makes basically no difference at all
but the current size is wrong. the Odyssey has a crew of 2500 while the Assault Cruiser has only 800. so either the Ody is very very crowded, or the model is too small, because of limitations

that picture is not to scale, im saying i wish it was because the odyssey in game is too huge, its nacelle is as long as an excelsior!

C-store Odyssey has a superior bridge design. It puts any other bridge to shame. It's truly gorgeous.

C-store Odyssey itself maneouvres pretty slowly, thus negating many of its tank capabilities. I *do* use it, but usually fly it with chevron separation for highly increased moveability.

I can never quite decide on the bridge (and corresponding interior) they're gorgeous, but feel Starbasey rather than Starship - I mean the transporter pad on the bridge just seemed an odd choice. That said, they are rather gorgeous, yeah.

I do agree on the ship pricing, 5000 Zen (or 4000CP for the non-metric amongst us ) is a lot of money for what is essentially a single ship (the model's the same on all 3) with three consoles. Now do I feel I get my money's worth? Yeah totally, I love it - but I can't help but feel it was a bit of a money grab personally. I'd have been happier by far if it was around 2/3 of the price, maybe 3000 Zen.

That said if you're on the fence? Buy them. They're fantastic.

My "problem" with the $50 pack is that there's "no variety"...

Oh, yeah, they have different consoles and slightly different BOff layouts, but what good is flying a FA-oriented Sci (GW III, DBBs) when the "science" Oddessy is still, at heart, a "turn like brick" cruiser that will make it very tough for me to use these FA abilities...

Respec the three ships some. Give the Sci oddessy buffer shields, less hull, and a better turn rate. Same with the tactical version, give it escort-esque hull / shields / turn. And don't do this via "saucer separation", make these the "base" stat sets. Last thing I need while blasting, say, Donatra, is for my turn rate to take a sudden gimping because the "chevron/saucer" decided to get caught in that thalaron beam and it reattaches itself to me for 5 minutes...
Well, with the upgrade announcement leaving NX and Connie fans in the dust again, can we restart / revisit the T5 Connie and NX threads - since they will no longer be "truly" endgame ships... (after we get the T5 versions, it'll be time to see them added to the T5U upgrade charts too...

I purchased the Odyssey Bundle awhile back. I was entirely unimpressed and really felt like I had wasted my money. Its the one purchase i've made (among dozens) that I wish I could return. On the bright side, the bridge for those ships was amazing, best bridge in the game, I wish they'd make more unique bridges for Zen Store ships.

Also while I am thinking about it, being a flagship, there shouldn't be 10,000 of them floating in space.... How can it be a representative flagship when they are everywhere. You can't be a significant representative without some uniqueness and exceptionalism. The exceptionalism goes away when they are made in mass.

With all due respect, Bran, as part of your "feedback", please keep news to new and important items and issues, and NOT simply promotion for existing Z-Store items.

Way I understood it is, that the sci variant gives an increasing weapons dmg buff the longer you keep your foe targeted (haven't been able to verify this yet, though). But yeah, other than merely switching the console layouts a bit, I too would have preferred to see true 'science-y' stats, like higher shield buffer, and faster turn-rate.

This has never happened to me. When my separated chevron dies, it just sits there, at %0, doing nothing. It never auto-returns to me, though. In fact, I find it cumbersome having to fly to my detached saucer ever so often (which can be quite a distance from where I am myself at the time) in order to check whether it's still alive. Wish its status would appear somewhere on my HUD somehow.
