# 1 STF ELITE & lobi crystals.

okay, so first off STF elite:


ive been playing normal for a few days now got the retro equipment blahblahblah & i find it relatively easy with a good team but i recently tried STF Elite on infected space and i lost count how many times ive died so my question is.

what build should i have for STF elite?

for normal STF i usually take my Sal Palo Refit with heavy anti proton cannons and light as well as the quad phase cannons, anti proton damage console etc etc.



now concerning lobi crystals:

i recently read of this weeks, ask cryptic that you can earn free crystals?

that being said, does he mean the hidden ones? or is there something ive missed where i can earn lobi crystals?



any help/ advice in replies would be appreciated with these to subjects

for dying in elite STF's. we need a complete breakdown of your build. consoles, boff layout, power settings, ect.


wait, the sau Paulo refit?

are you using the T5 Tac escort Retrofit with the Sau Paulo skin, or litterally the captain level version that the quad cannons came with?

as for lobi crystals. you could only earn them in the episode re-runs. in hidden spots, or with a one shot missionw here the crystal consortium dude introduces you to the lobi with hacked lockboxes and keys which you use to earn a few free lobi. if your aksing for missions that give you lots of free lobi... no there are none.

Yeah, we need to a complete build in terms of equipment to give you proper advice on not dying. What type of shields, weapons, engines, consoles etc., what mark and what rarity.

A couple of starting pointers would be:

Are you actually using a T5 Defiant Retrofit (30k base hull and 7 weapon slots, can only be used at Vice Admiral) with the Sau Paolo skin, or are you using the T4 Defiant Refit (27 (?) k base hull and 6 weapon slots, can be used from Captain up)? You should really be using the former if you have it. If you don't, use an Advanced or Patrol Escort. They're free and you would have been able to get one at your Rear Admiral promotion.

You're using Anti-Proton and Phaser weapons at the same time. It's not a good idea to mix weapon energy types. If you use one weapon energy type (Anti-Proton or Phaser) you can slot 4 consoles that boost the damage from that energy type and do more damage without losing out on anything else. If you want to use the quad cannons, go all phaser.

You say have you have the 'retro' equipment. If you mean the Borg set listed under "Retro STF gear", then the engine, deflector and console are all good, keep using them. But I'm not a fan of the Borg shield. It's got too low capacity, and shield regeneration procs too infrequently for a Regenerative Shield (like the Borg one) to be worthwhile. Consider replacing the shield with a Covariant one with Plasma resist and a capacity modifier or two, which will do until you get enough EDCs (or a Tech drop) for a MACO shield. You can get them from the STF store where you got the Borg gear.

okay, well i have the tactical escort refit (captains level) & the Advanced escort (lower half admiral)

tbh like you said the advanced escort seems to be better, been using it for the last few hours, i used the tactical escort for the quad phasers tbh like you guys said.

also. pick up the Universal assimilated console from the mission "Assimilated" it adds to all power levels, and with it you can replace your shields with something stronger and still get the 3 peice borg set bonus, since the tractor beam bonus for 4 pieces really.... kind of sucks.

id use this build if i could get it, the point of the thread was for playing elite for the first time (sort of) i played once, completed it + optional objective but i died way to many times compared to the rest of my team so the idea of the thread was for people to give me a build that i can get for starting elites as i dont want to let the people im paired with down.

to replace the weapons you can use their non-[Borg] counterparts, it's just a random proc that you can replace as you get the EDC's/salvage for them. the proc does add 1000 damage when it procs, but base damage wise a comparable non-borg weapon should do just fine.

you'd be better off with neutronium hulls if your going to go that route. the RCS module is somewhat useless on escorts since they turn fast enough as it is. i never have trouble with any of my escorts in keeping things infront of it.

weapon wise what you have is pretty descent, just replace the rear weaponry with turrets. it'll give you a better punch in front attacks.

Ps. you should use a custom power setting, escorts when built right, can easily cap out attack power at 80-90 so you can put the rest of the power into shields, which improves their resistances a little, meaning you'll survive a bit longer.

ah okay thanks for that, well i used RCS because it helped me get my aft and fore launchers out at roughly the same time out of the thought it would deal more damage lol

and forgive me but "proc"?

Proc is pretty much waht we call the special effects going off, like subsystem shutdown, shield drain of tetryon weaponry, or in the case of borg equipment, the special damage to borg only.
