So I'm getting a new computer.

Going from an AMD A6 (lol) APU with Radeon 6720G2 to a Core i5 (second gen) with Radeon HD 6630m.

Will I at least be able to play STO at the same settings as before? Is this overall an improvement or am I going down in hardware?

I used to lag to death when a few carriers and/or Theta are on the field. Hopefully now I won't?

The game use to have some issues with AMD GPU's but I dont think thats the case anymore. Still, I would go green (aka nvidia) in your case maybe a gtx 660. It seems you like the AMD camp.

Have you considered using an AMD APU instead with a supporting Mobo? The APU has its own on-die GPU which would definitely increase your framerate paired with an AMD GPU card.

I don't care how long you've been playing. I only care about how you play.
And remember to follow the rules.
