So you think a map full of NPCs is the "true pvp" LOL ? oh yeah ambusing low people fighting NPC, hunting people 3v1, spawncamping 10v1. Damn, that's some of the greatest PVP experinces that show the greatest skill....NOT.

The only amusing thing about Ker'Rat is go there with a science ship stacked with sensors and one shot cloaked Ker Rats with photonic shockwave.

Open a thread about Ker'rat if you want. I'll happily contribute my views. But it is offtopic here.

You're not clear because you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about and you're incapable of doing math. The entire point of the armor formula translating into a linear progression is so that Cryptic can prevent people from shelling up (and I imagine you'd be the first) to a state of invulnerability. The closer you reach the 75% resist, the more it tapers off to the point of ineffectualness. If it takes me 136 of my regular damage to kill you at 60 resist, it only takes me 143 to kill you at 80. You've lost over half the benefit you gained from the original console.

Read your own cribbed links, thanks.

To understand what the resistance do, it is best to change it to effective health. Every +resistance improves that.

It is always good style to talk to discussion partners in that manner.

Well, I just use words from that link:

"The thing to remember is that the resist bonuses listed on items like certain engineering consoles isn?t the percentage of resist the item will give you, it?s the percentage of additional damage the item will let you take."

Which is what I was trying to say.

I get annoyed and lose my patience when people try to mislead others about the effectiveness of things like SIF generators, because it's the little things that add up and detract from the quality of players I end up facing in the queues.

For reference, I'm not talking about Ker'rat. I don't really consider that true PvP. It's more of a hybrid between PvP, PvE and a race. It's pretty fun to compete in the Ker'rat race and the rewards are great. I never go in there for the PvP or PvE unless I'm just testing something real quick. I don't mind the enemy players in it though-- makes it exciting for the racers.

Anyway, seems like I need a replacement for my 3rd Neutronium console as I never realized the large amount of diminishing returns that they had. Any recommendations? Would it be a good idea to carry around multiple consoles in my inventory of the different energy-type resists and then equip the one that best counters whatever the opponent escorts are using?

Well, you can always put some P2W (special) console in there. If you switch between power settings frequently you could use EPS.

I would avoid +power consoles, because they are the most useless ones.

SIF console is good if you carry at least 2 heals and can support your team (sci ships, cruisers).

Borg console is good choice as well.

Indeed I would suggest a subspace jump console for an escort. It's just terribly practical.

Though it only really shines if you use the deflector and the engines as well, with a good non-Borg shield.
