Yeah, some of these ships really trip me out. Why, other than casual RP, would someone buy the Fleet Saber or the Aquarius Escort? Those ships are paper. They're Captain rank ships at best. What purpose will they serve in PVP, in an STF, in Fleet Events? They have no advantages; no pros to balance out their cons. And they cost $20? Nah. No thanks.
I would challenge you to actually pick up a Fleet Saber first. I have seen some "errors" in the way its stats were reported (specifically with its shield modifier). I'm actually getting more shielding with my Fleet Saber than with my VA Defiant R using identical gear. The Saber was reported with a .77 shield modifier and seems actually, much higher. I couldn't tell you where that actual number is but it does beat the Defiant R with a shield mod of .9.
My fleet D7 says that the shield mod is .94. The BG Vorcha says it has 1. Using the same gear on both ships same captain also, the D7 has 115% of the shields of the BG Vorcha.
So somethings not right there. It should be around what.....94% of the BG Vorcha.
I have no explanation.

Ok, that is curious, two instances of a similar error? Now i really wouldn't want to alert the devs of a potential bug (it sure is better to have more good ships to choose from), but I'd also love to know for sure the better stats are to stay before buying those ships.
Does anyone know if the Fleet Somraw is prone to the same "error"? It would be a really nice offering then.
Cryptic. Please leave these bugs (if they are so) in the game. We would like difficult to achieve ships to actually be better then the stuff we got months/years ago. Thank you. <3
Here's the thing. The tool tip on the shield itself will show the expected value while in system space. But the value in the defense window on your character sheet shows differently.
As if there's a value for fleet added in just as your ships captain skills get added in.
says the video is private.. in red alert my scourge (normal) has almost 11k shields and they are mk x honor guard.
should be 11.5k or 12k when i get xii and it has 39,300 hull after my skill buffs..
I talked to someone in my fleet that has the Fleet Somraw, here's some numbers to crunch (no shield consoles mounted):
Listed Shield Modifer: 0.71
With MK X KHG shields it shows 8,980 each facing
Mk X KHG base is 8,851.1
Starship Shield System skill that they have: 84
Seems a lot higher shield mod than the .71 too me, unless Starship Shield System skill gives a lot more shield HP than I think.
Very well, assuming all of the fleet ships that seemed so "discriminated" on shields have this secret boost (making them very nice choices), what about the "better" fleet ships that have the 10% bonus listed? Do they also benefit from a hidden fleet boost?
If not, then it's a strange bug or a kind dev secretly made these expensive ships' stats more in line with their price.
My Fleet Tor'Kaht with a listed Shield Modifier of 1.1 seems to be getting 130% shield capacity with my Starship Shield System skill of 99.
With Mk X (plain) Shields:
Tooltip: 5,747.5
Defense Stat: 7,472 each facing, no shield boost consoles or set bonus
Power level: 70/50 shields
Fully loaded with two Mk XI blue Field Generators, with two piece KHG (eng and shield) and Borg (Def and console) sets, KHG Mk XI shields give me 14,954 each facing (tooltip of 9,062.9)
