Nobody is talking about PVP here... we were simply saying that the Federation does not have ANY Tactical heavy ships compared to the Klingon side.

Critical thinking comes easy to some and...well....not so easy to others.

Please re-read the following paragraph,

"I know all you super elite veteran superstars will jump in and tell us we should sit in the back and heal you or something stupid but I'm not raising this subject with combat efficiency in mind because not all of us just sit there and PVP day and night. This is about play style and what we want out of the game and I don't see that this would create an imbalance in the game!"

Please notice that I specifically phrase this in the context of storyline play and PVE. I specifically state that I am aware that in PVP it may not be effective (As is the same for many other ships). But I see an outcry for a ship like I described. Yes, I am sure you see many threads on this subject and I pray that you don't respond to each one with the same useless response. You do not know that this will never be changed so try not to speak with such authority on the matter...

*Yawns* Oh dear, another helpless newbie who thinks that this ship is underpowered cause his rainbow lasers can't cut through anything. Or cause the ship is slow. Or cause he can't one shot a cube with his lance.

Getting tired of these guys, they're like cockroaches. It's been said before, it'll be said a million times again, it's the pilot, not the ship. I've seen veterans in mirandas do better than newbs in carriers. If it's not working then you ARE doing it wrong.

And you do realize it's an entirely different ship in a timeline that does not exist?
It's a timeline where Weyun is the Kai of the Pah-wraiths and Admiral Picard wants to build the biggest ship in history.

Haha, thank you for proving you have the reading comprehension of my dog. I never said I wanted the ship to be across the board more powerful. I simply compared a ship of similar design and showed that the Federation had nothing even remotely similar. Yes, I realize the KDF and Federation are supposed to have different ships. The purpose of this thread is to try to be the catalyst for a little change. Set aside the Dreadnought even...I am just hoping for one Federation cruiser (Perhaps even the Typhoon) that is obviously built for battle.

I have no problems with my Dreadnought, truly. I've purchased many other ships and found I like it the most. I just enjoy being Federation and wish we could have a ship like the Bortasqu as well. I don't think it's that big a request.

Of course, if you are just trying to look cool by posting insults to other players in an attempt to elevate yourself in the eyes of others you have probably failed. I think anyone but the most mentally challenged would note your inability to actually address my original posts request. Congrats....

The only reference to an Odyssey class in Startrek Canon is that history line so how could it be a different ship? You're telling me the same creators that put a Dreadnought in the game from an alternate timeline would decide to create an Odyssey class ship also from alternate timeline but it actually has nothing to do with the alternate timeline? Logic anyone?

IF you had actually read the article you would have noticed that the ship is not of the Odyssey class but of an entirely different class meaning the two have nothing to do with each other whatsoever.
"This section describes the alternate timeline Enterprise-F established as an Enterprise-class vessel in service from 2382 to 2388 in DS9 - Millennium novel: The War of the Prophets. "

elementary logic

I guess the section describing the regular timeline Odyssey still evades me...

I didn't mean to insert that logic comment. I don't usually resort to insults like this. insanerandomnes witless response got under my skin.

Na, I'm not trying too look cool when I already am incredibly epic .

And no, I can read perfectly fine. I just didn't find it worthwhile to listen to your incessant whiny pre-teen rant. If it was about getting a ship built just for war, fine, but don't target the dreadnought, cause it's already an awesome ship.

Now a typhoon would be awesome. I'd love too fly one, and I'd like too see the designing of the ship upto the devs. However, after the regent, I'm seriously seond guessing my faith in their ship balancing developers. Perhaps it should just have ten weapons slots, and thats it for a special ability. Maybe. Doubt it'll ever happen. Guess I'll just wait for season 7. Oh and wait until after the Vesta too, more excited about that, science finally gets some love.

I don't mind at all waiting for a new class.

I completely agree that the dreadnought is an awesome ship. I have several ships in my pool, including the defiant refit, and I prefer the Dreadnought 10x over the other ships.

I think the reason people see so many Dreadnought threads is because a decent amount of people see the Dreadnought as the closest thing the Federation has to a battlecruiser style ship but it just doesn't seem to completely fit the category (regardless of how awesome it already is). I'm not asking for it to be more powerful, just more battlecruiser like. If you think about it, removing some of the engineering abilities would not allow it to last as long even if it did dish out more DPS.
