I went from an escort to a cruiser, but never slotted any Boffs or skills on the cruiser. The cruiser had 0 Boffs on board. The tray went to whatever default setting it had, according to my captain abilities, which makes sense, since it doesn't have anything else to refer to.
When I went back to my escort (the same escort from which i had just swapped over to the cruiser with), my Boff layout was still correct. The correct Boffs were in the their correct spots. Everything was as I left it, but the skill tray was still reset.
The system is set up so that you cannot have 2 ships with the same name.
E.G. : U.S.S. Example and another ship in the same inventory as U.S.S. Example.
The System is also set up so that you cannot have 2 of the same player name.
E.G. IplaySTO@blahblah and another player with the name IplaySTO@blahblah.
Given that these are 2 unique variables that are already in the system, why can't the devs assign a save function for an action along the lines of "player IplaySTO@blahblah in ship class Cruiser of name Example saves tray IplaySTO@blahblah+Cruiser+Example" ?
Obviously, I'm no game programmer (as per the command I just listed), but programming all follows the same logic, it's just in a different language.
