Hmm, what can $25 get me?

A case of Heineken. Or Corona. Or Presidente. Or some Hennesy. Or some JD.

It can get me to Boston and back... and for 4 Regents I can get to Raleigh NC (which is where i'll be in a couple of weeks)

Some RL contraband (of the leafy green kind)

or 3 burgers and a large pizza...

But honestly for the cost of 16 Armitages I can acquire the parts necessary for a proper budget gaming rig that will blow what I have currently out of water, and still have enough to get my girlfriend something sexy... you know, behind closed doors

Seriously guys, stop being puppets to the great PWE. You don't need to use your money to have the bells and whistles. They're just making it so that you THINK you have to. Which by the way... Dismissing doffs for dil IS NOT AN EXPLOIT, JUST SAYING. I have no need for colonists on my ship... it is a ship of war, not a family boat lol...

for 25 quid i could:

get a bottle of tennesse honey/johnny walker black label

a ticket in the brummie road end to see the Albion play (boing boing!)

a hand shandy or nob gobble (he he!)

16 cans of carling premier or 12 bottles of hobgoblin

about 5 days worth of petrol to get to and from work

but, i could be tempted to splurge in the c store at some point

Planning to spend $35 this weekend to buy two ships just to get the weapons/consoles.

Meatspace is overrated. If you need me, I'll be in my ready room.

A little subtle advertising I see...

I'm letting the monthly stipend build up a bit higher. I'm patient that way. Lots of stuff to do before I have to worry about spending real money to get new cool stuff!

$25 is close to what they're charging for Civilization 5 Gods & Kings, now that you mention it. Good call! As soon as that US client pays me...

It is not an entire game, it is an Expansion Pack. Sort of like an offlne DLC.

Yea that particular example was an add-on BUT, there are 37 metric tons of games you CAN get (even more than one sometimes!) for $25.

While I don't disagree with your original post, I wouldn't say steer clear of the c-store altogether. I have paid and bought ships on there, and I've grinded dil and exchanged for others, as well as other services. The items I paid for I did so because I really wanted them as it was (Armitage and Defiant), while others I was more than happy to save up dil to convert for (, Thunderchild, TOS connie, oberth, NX, Delta Flyer, bunch of other random stuff and probably a ship or two I forgot, and the Intrepid << favourite canon ship, not the most useful in STO however)

I guess at the end of the day it depends on your personal budget and how much value these items have to you personally. But to new players, I agree with you 100% they should not go blowing their bundle on c-store items until they discover their playstyle in STO. I've heard more than once of people buying the Gal-X (which, as previously mentioned, is epic outclassed), are normally escort pilots, but bought it cuz the thing is cool lookin'.. needless to say the ship ends up getting shelved.

for That amount of zen + VAT + Cost of converting DKK into Euros (Wich is nessacary, hence forced by PWE), I can get:

- A brand new edition of most Star Trek games I could find (and still have money left).

- An entire set of clothes for one of my kids, or a shirt / pants for myself.

- A mounting set for my tablet for the car (Universal, for most tablet sizes and cars).

- A new backpack

- 2 new 16 GB Micro SD cards

and thoose were just the%
My name may say "PWE member", but I will never be.
-NEVER Forget the Screwups and ignorance made towards the people who supported the game through 2011
Don't look silly, don't call it "Zen-Store" - Don't waste devs time, Post proper bug-reports
