Kinda sad.

Might be good news for Champs if there are player to inherit. Might be good for Cryptic if there are employees to pick up.

But sad to see the first super-hero MMO go.

Sad. Champs should definitely offer a special weekend to grab some crossover players.

Say what you will about Cryptic; at least they are keeping the lights on.

Very sad -- my first MMO goes away. I may have to log in and grab some screens before it shutters.

It's sad when any MMO closes its doors. Just a few days ago I told agentexeider he shouldn't use CoH as an example of how C-Stores are done right because for all we know it might be closing in a month, and now whammy!

CoH had always struggled, though. Superheroes are a niche market in an industry dominated by D&Dish Fantasy style games. I can only hope that some of the CoH players find their way to CO - as I don't want to see that game being the next casualty.

Wow. This is sad news, though I suppose not all that surprising. Makes me wonder how champions online has survived while this one hasn't.

That is sad. But to be fair, 8 years is a long time for an MMO, particularly a niche one like CoH. It fought the good fight for a long time. I hope the CoH players will find a good home with Champs and DUCO, they probably would exist if it weren't for CoH.

So inhumane superweapons, mass murder, and canon nonsense is okay, but speedos are too much for some people.
