Looks good, but getting the devs on this is another story. I read that she is supposed to have an experimental technology oh her. New type of phasers and slipstream drive?

well the new phasers you're thinking of are the Mk XII phaser cannons hes has mounted under her prow , but seeing how giving a decent turn rated cruiser the ability to load out with dual heavies would be overpowered , i made it into a console

as for the slipstream , yes , in the novels the vesta was the test-bed for the slipstream drive tech voyager brought back with them , but seeing how every ship uses it at t5 now , plus the odyssey having the advanced one it would be a bit redundant giving it to the vesta

I think the Vesta is suppose to be a science vessle, or so I have read. i have not gone through most of the Post-Endgame novels because there are so many different possibilites that are not set in stone.

Here are my modifications:
Hull: 32,000
Sheilds are good at 5,100.
Weapons should be 3 and 3 like all other science ships.
I fine with the crew size at 750.
Bridge Officers: Commander Science, Lt. Commander Engineer, Lt Tactical, Lt. Science, Ensign Engineer
Device Slots: 3
Consoles are good with 3 of each.
Turn rate: 12
Implue Modifier 0.15
Inertia is fine at 35.
+15 Auxilary

A popular misconception , in all the books the vesta is listed as a multi mission explorer , not a science vessel.
The class is initially a testbed for systems brought back from the delta quadrant.
Regardless , at the time of the vesta's introduction , the premier science vessels being produced were the luna class ships

If anything you could justify selling 3 variants of this ship like the Oddy class since the whole class was supposed to testing out new tech in the field. The original Vesta class was to test out the new slip stream drive if I recall correctly. They were about to test it when the borg came to wipe the Federation off the map.

yes thats correct , the borg invasion took place just after the vesta was brought introduced into service
and three variants of the ship could work i suppose, it could easily be handled by a single ship though

That wouldn't be bad. But instead of strictly being a cruiser like the Oddy, make the three varients Escort, Science Ship, AND Cruiser with appropriate stats to go with the varients.

Just like the Vor'Cha and Negh'Var are, right?

Unless it also gets at least a Lt. Cmdr Tactical slot, I don't think it'd be overpowered.
