ok so my first toon was an engineer rocking an escourt. but now i decided to make a tactical capitan and play a science dps/CC build as my second fed character. i messed up my skill tree on my engineer and had to buy a retrain token and i REALLY dont want to do that again. this is the build i put together from my knowledge of Sci skills(which isnt all that much)

i havent decided if im going to run a single cannon and a dual beam bank with a torp or two cannons and a torp but if i run beam banks i might use BOII instead of CRF2.

if i made any big mistakes go easy on me. and i set up the skills i intend to use once i hit 50 as well as weapon type(either plasma or Antiproton, not sure yet.)

as for Duty officers, im not really sure what to run with this settup. i ran 2 torps on my escourt and used 2 purple projectile wepons officers and one blue, a single purple brace for impact officer, and something else. but im lost for this one. maybe some conn officers so i can free up a Tactical slot?

because its fun and SCi ships have more survivability than escourts. ever played a sci ship as a tactical capitan? Gravity Well + Tyken's Rift = Win. not to mention because i CAN.

I do it. I am a tac in an Atrox carrier. Fun to play and fun to kill everything faster than escorts.

tactical in a science ship can work really well , i do it with the orb weaver
throw down a gravity well , thermionic torpedo to knock out their engines , then add some theta radiation / warp plasma to ruin their day a little more

cannon rapid fire is less desireable...use a Beam overload instead. (works best with DBB)

also i think you shouldn't miss out on a tractor beam repulsor.
then i wouldn't miss out on a RSP and a TSS on a ship that primarely takes beating on it's shields.
i mean, sure you need something to get you out of a tractor beam, but with 2 tactical teams you shouldn't be conserned with getting your shields dropped on one side.

the skill tree is far from optimal too in my opinion. you invest too much into each skill. mostly 6 points is enough to skill, as this shows you.

that may be true for you, but i seriously doubt that experianced escort players can agree with this statement. I also have yet to see a carrier doing more dmg in any situation. Atleast thats what my combat parser says.
