A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
In all honesty, stuff like this is pretty much why I stopped PvPing. Sure there are skilled people who know what they are doing. But the way STO is built, not all builds are created equal. This discourages people and they just either rant or just outright quit.
It's not like there aren't a million guides in the PvP forum that highlight different builds for different roles.
And this is why Starfleet Command (I, II and OP) was (is) so much better as a ship to ship combat game.
A battle that's over in a matter of seconds or in which one player cannot possibly compete has no drama, and no interest for me (and many others, I'm sure). It's a problem in many games these days.
Once, I was simply called Mojo. Now, I'm forced into a new name, but don't be fooled, I'm the original STO Mojo!
Until the game is at the level where average players can do good with even the worst of builds, STO's PvPers are just going to be a handful.
Learning is the part of the process and an average player gotta learn. I do PvP in Kerat, and it is not a wise idea for an average player to go alone. He will have nothing to gain but a lot to rant.
And yep, I was busted a few times before I got my build right.

This ^^
In all online games I have played you need to learn how to PvP in the game, learn the equipment, learn the tricks.
Most people I see have the Kirk complex and that is what PvE is for.

nope you stopped PVPing, because you were unable to improve, or take advice from people who know better.
To find a build that actually works, isn't even work you need to do...it is already ot there.
And to expect that the game has to change so you can be better in PVP is one of the most insane things ever stated on this forum. And that means something!
i kind of like the space pvp in sto, because it is the only game i ever played that actually allows draws and long battles, if players are at about the same level of skill, and both use an intelligent build.
yeah, people with equal, or near to equal skill usually have fights longer than 15 min or a draw because both went to bed. Even with escorts.
Last time i died within 5 sec was when i had to answer the phone, and had to turn down the volume at the same time, and frankly if i hadn't been in an escort myself, i wouldn't have even died.
I was in my Brel retrofit. You know the one with enhanced battlecloak? So I was harassing a cruiser who was in the mddle of fight with someone else. In technical terms, I wasn't internded to kill on my own but just to have him distracted so that he won't be able to concentrate.
After sometime I got a sci on my tail so we went for 1 vs 1 battle. Now if it was some who was new then he would have went into "oh! brel retrofits with battlecloacks are so op" and "nerf it" yada yada yada mode. Instead, he starts to sensor scan me and a few times I was at 40% of hull due to his sci+weapon attacks. This battle went on till the round was over.
so learn and talk before you are going to rant. There are many people here who are ready to help you.

No lag spike, no me being newbie, no him being skillful.
1 point, 5 of us pounding him with no shields.... still couldn't knock his armor past 99% and guess what, it was flickign back and forth btween 99 and 100 for a very long time.
Makes me laugh... big community full of experienced gamers...
Yet no one believes cheats exsist...lol
Well I got this guy on fraps good and proper (him and his fleet) and he's been reported the correct way.
Funny tho, looking who is reply that's from the same fleet <GG>
thats not cheats. thats skill. Don't expect to Captain Kirk everything.
<Sigh>
Yep, impossible to cheat in any computer game, so must be my lack of skills

No, I never said I was fighting a carrier. (but I did take a recluse out 5 times during the same few PvPs... Guess I'm noob)

Oh and by the way, I'm a PvPer, I have character builds just for PvP, im a 700+ veteran.
I run a fleet of over 300 people, I have nearly all the ship unlocks+the little gadgets and I was carrying alternative weapons and tac console...
Maybe you guys need to do some research yourselves... instead of just telling ppl to learn to play the game

I never really understood what was wrong with that. With beams being able to go over 125 power you can fire at max dps without dropping dps like cannons do along with no or at least much less dps loss for firing at range that cannons have. Why are dual beams that bad? Last time I looked at the math fire at will with dual beams can out DPS cannons.
