That'll never happen. Think of how much money would be lost if players didn't have to buy inventory expansions. You need to think from a 'maximized profit' point of view.
either way..add a data integer box....we already have it with the banking by holding ctrl while dragging the item we want out of the bank/fleet bank...shouldnt be that hard to stick on the vendors.
34,000 commodities required. 680 purchases of 50. That is a LOT of work someone is going to do. Going to injure someone if you keep requiring so many of the same repetitive movement. Price is not as trivial though at just over 10 mil EC. But for the people that have that kind of EC the bigger issue is going to be the act of making the purchase, not the cost of it.
+1 to the OP. The slider should crank up to the max stack size of whatever commodity you're getting/using/whatevering.

Yes having just done 100 clicks for shield generators it was pretty boring to say the least. In the end I have set up a macro for things like this and also for deleting emails, I leave the computer to do the work, however it definitely needs sorting out as many people are not able to add macros so easily.

I don't wanna be rude or derail the thread, but would you be ok to post the rest of the requirements?
I second (or by now like 5th...) the idea of increasing the purchase quantity max. I belong to a smallish fleet and often purchase all of these commodities at once for the projects, very annoying to click 3 times, more if you accidentally don't hit 50, for each 50 you have to purchase.
The STO Wiki now has the Tier IV Shipyard requirements:
