# 1 Miranda class and the tutorial
09-22-2012, 06:38 AM
First time player and post!

I love the look of the Miranda class starship and had the impression I would be in it for the tutorial, but it didn't happen. Yet, I saw other ships of different classes in the tutorial that were player ships. So, how could I get that hull to start?

My search-fu was week on this question, or the forums don't like my tablet :p

Thanks for any input!

When starting out each person gets a random miranda type: there's 3 miranda types. After the tutorial you can switch the skin of the type you have to look like one of the other types; or mix and match the parts to make your own flavor of miranda ship.

Go to the Starbase and find the NPC where you can change the look of your vessel, i luv the Miranda as well and used her way up to level 16!

Ah, so it's random. Ok,I was hoping it was like that versus some option I missed.

Thank you for the replies

Don't think it's actually random, i believe we all start out with the "Centaur" ship/skin but you can change that on the starbase/Earth Spacedock!

I know i did 'cause i've always loved the look of the Mir class myself as well. In fact the only ships/skins i have picked in this game are all canon ships as well as canon looks, STOWIKI has a small guide which you can use to get the most canon look where ships and uniforms are concerned!

I usually play the tutorial on new alts and you start in a "Light Cruiser" and the skin of the ship is random. You get either Miranda, Centaur or Shi'kar varient.

Personally I prefer the Shi'Kar skin.

I don't think it's quite random. I've started a variety of alts, and it seems more like science gets the Centaur, tactical gets the Shi'kahr, and engineering gets the regular Miranda.

That's just my experience though.

I have two tactical Federation characters on my account, one was given the Centaur and the other was given the Miranda. That seems random to me.
