We have this doff's to, but we dont use it.
That was rather amusing, i saw you guys run away like four times. It was a magical evening.

So, SNB doffs were ok when only the richest players could afford them, like certain Clowns, but now they're like 20mill a pop you don't like them anymore?

fascinating! i'm playing a lot of pvp, not realizing pvp is nearly dead in the moment, nor did i realize bazillions of snb-doff effects.

btw, when there can be up to 15 snb doffs in a group and each one has chance of 0,5% per shot for his effect, and you say that the proc will happen all 8 to 10 seconds...
god damn. they should nerf immediatly the proc chance of energy weapons. 30 - 40 weapons per team, each weapon with a proc-chance of 2,5%. for luck there is a phaser proc immunity timer now. but why cant i remember of the instant-ship-shut-down-phaser-matches?

Problem with those subnuc doff mofos is that even if you have 3 and use them, if you are against a premade that also uses them heavily (only 2/ship is enough), your buffs are going away pretty fast and with your buffs, so the fun goes away, lol. Those subnuc doffs should at least be limited to 1/ship, with the same .5 proc chance, and for those that have more of them, they should be de-bound so can be either sold, either used for different tunes. I think that limiting 1 subnuc/ship is the easiest thing to be done and it will also make them useful in a team. At least the team proc of subnuc doff won't be that crazy...

Wow this is very disturbing, I had never come across these doffs before but I won a couple in the elite packs and sold them for a ton of EC. I didn't realise the full implications of the 0.5% chance until I came across a guy in Kerrat today and had a 1v1 with him. Jeez my weapons were shutting down every 8 sec or so otherwise he would have been dead, he was using phased tets which have a phaser proc but nothing like as much as i experienced today. I never noticed my other buffs dropping because I'm in a pretty tough Galor but I noticed my weapons not firing lol, and that's against just one ship.

Cryptic you need to remove this type of DOFF immediately, the only other solution is we all add them and then nobody's buffs would work, in which case I would no longer bother with PvP at all as where would be the fun?

This is a very bad day for PvP in STO, could it be the final nail in the coffin?

you are describing phaser procs, they have always been that way. Just as with the SNB Doff, people only start complaining when going against them, before that even the NO p2w fleets were using them. Just as they keep using phasers. The SNb doffs have already been nerfed, they hurt all, but escort pilots the most, since they need the buffs for damage and they have the least native healing.

Anybody still wonders why that one is getting a lot of forum attention now

Honestly? It's that incredibly terrible?

It's 0.5% chance, and it should be once per weapon cycle. Standard weapon procs are 2.5%. I don't get the rage over something that's got about a snowball's chance in hell of firing.
