Clearly I had the Starbase 24 one confused with and excellent one...
only thing I didn't like were the extended impulse contrails what a great video! I especially liked the scene where a captain appeared to be greeting a new species on an undisclosed planet. Can't wait to explore and stretch the Prime Directive
I still don't get why Klingons started to attack Federation. They were allies and despite the fact that the Khitomer Accords are broken, they could still sign a new treaty.
I know it's made this way for MMO needing PvP but they could put some other specie to fight against. It's so sad.
I don't know if it's a thread here or on my fleet's forums, but a hypothesis emerged after the Future Past 2 video came out. In the video, a Klingon was attacked by a shapeshifting species. This may be Species 8472 or 90210 or whatever their number is. It was said that in ST:Lost, er, ST:Voyager, that the Species had duplicated Starfleet Academy and left that open-ended.
In theory, the Species, via Federation, Gorn, and maybe a Klingon or two, may have provoked the war as a method to distract our quadrant from exploring the Species' "fluid space."
Theoretically, this could be "discovered" in game or by a certain date (expansion) when other playable races (ROMULAN!!!, Cardassian, Ferengi, etc.) are in the game (or released). So by a certain date, the Klingon/Federation War will have ended and new threats will have emerged.
The only reason people still play wow is because they are:
B) Bored with nothing to do
C) Crap at every other MMORPG
E) Evil and trying to put other MMORPGS out of business by not giving them their money
F) Fat and can't make it to the shop to but a new game
G) Gay and only plays to socialise with strangers
H) Hairy paedophiles going after the children
I) Ignorant of the rest of the online world of gaming
J) Jolly and drunk all the time and don't know what their playing
N) Noobs who have just started to see why everyone else plays
The people who don't play are:
1) People with real life friends who don't all play WoW
4) People who know there are better games out there, aka WAR or CO
5) People who don't even own a computer
6) People clueless about PC gaming
7) Anyone who has any sense
By the way, i'm a rehabilitated ex WoW-addict. Been off the stuff for about a year now but few of my friends are still playing, so don't say i don't have a clue
(Search up Veto for my old guild on Nordrassil, which has gone downhill but is still good)
Good one! But let's hope they won't be talking about STO in this manner a few years from now...
I hate to say ti but the videos are impressing me less and less. The animations still look stiff, and when does a ship every fire 15 torpedoes in one go? Come on, you got to get all of these details right, especialyl the light streaks coming from the engines in the previous video, you just dont see that in Star Trek.
I don't think that I like this video quite as much as the "Reach for the Stars" one, but it still contains some nice footage that is definitely worth a closer look. I will concede that this trailer does look a little flashier than some of the others, but I still cannot decide whether that is a good or bad thing because personally I'd rather see more substantial footage.
of course the reviews at gamespot were bad, that was some seriously bad footage. Seems like it was poorly thought out and implemented. Ive moved well beyond 'worried' about this game and am deep into 'mourning.'
The Starbase24 looks like it will be under heavy continously klingon attack. Must be PvP Quest Area. The mentioned General will dish out Quests that mainly look like "crush the federation" maybe even "beam over to Starbase24 and kill the federation Admiral". There could even be a PvE variant too.
My only concern for this video is that there are too many klingon ships exploding compared to federation ships exploding. I assume the beta testers were sitting in the fed ships My advice: punish them with pain sticks, set them on water&bread, use unique klingon interrogation techniques until they beg you to test klingon ships
