Super Robots. A rare set of war machines that are so well crafted that duplicating them is impossible (any attempt to do so is either a semi-successful attempt or a catastrophic failure). Voltron is the most well known of these... I guess the Lion motif has something to do with it as it's a symbol of strength in some countries. And then there are others like Combattler V who are less well known despite being one of the first on the scene.

All these Super Robots have one quality that makes them special... their fantastic weaponry. From Voltron's Blazing Sword to Tranzor Z/Mazinger's Rocket Punches, these "super weapons" are capable of doing what our earthly weapons are apparently incapable of doing... destroying the war machines of the evil aliens.

Okay... that was too long. What any one Super Weapon from any particular Super Robot would you want to arm your ship with?

As seen in the video link for Combattler V, I'd go with the buzzsaw yoyo weapon (don't know it's actual name). Using the deflector to manipulate the weapon (after launching it from the top and bottom of the Saucer Section) I could probably behead several Klingon ships before they knew what was happening...

I'm torn between Cybuster's Akashic Buster, Dygenguar's zankantou, and Valsione's Cross smasher.

The Akashic buster would be executed by launching a special torpedo which explodes before the target, engulfing the ship in highly charged plasma (since fire is kinda hard to do in space) then ram the enemy at full impulse. (Best used on an Odyssey or other large ship)

The Zankantou would be mounted to the belly of the hull on a gimbal, allowing free range of motion thus enabling the ship to slice through opponents as though they were butter. (Best used on an escort class ship)

The Cross Smasher would be two assemblies mounted on the far sides of the ship, such that when fired, the beams intertwine and amplify each other (can see this being mounted on a carrier)

So inhumane superweapons, mass murder, and canon nonsense is okay, but speedos are too much for some people.

A big reflex/reaction cannon from the SDF Macross. Instant win.

the MAC cannon was never mounted on a super robot.

For me? Probably Ideon's gun, or maybe the wave motion gun from Yamato.

I know a friend of mine would love Sakuradite beams, and another would probably lean towards beamsabers, so that's those.

The buster gun (Gundam Wing) is always popular and should count as a super robot weapon even if Wing Zero itself isn't a super robot. Although on that front, idk, maybe the Anti-meson cannons from Gaogaigar.

That was one of the first ideas I thought of. I'm trying to remember, but there are a few super robots that wield those.

I figured a starship could use deflector emitters (as opposed to Phaser Arrays) to create a Voltron class Deflector Blade. This blade shoots out similar to a phaser, but stops after a certain length is achieved, then hardens into a blade similar to a Super Robot sword. The starship would then wade into the enemy fleet, using its deflector sword to bat away incoming energy beams and torpedoes before finally slashing its target in half...

That would be pretty scary for the Klingon ship captain... to see the blade slice right through his bridge before his life is taken by the resulting vacuum of space sucking out his half of the bridge...

It's really just a coilgun, right? The MAC Cannon would be a supersized version, and I think a coilgun is on Halo 4's new mech.
