has the potential to be the best escort, but about 90% of builds turn out terrabad, it will get schooled because its turn rate is so low by other escorts, you have to play it like you would a kdf cruiser...
This, I see it as a slightly more tac oriented fleet vor'cha. But missing 1 weapon and console slot.
I don't use the special console. The abilities themselves are okish but every 5 mins? No. That's 2 activations per STF, so useless.
Being an engy I set mine up to be kinda tanky, but also having that COM lvl tac power is fun. Can still tank Elite Donatra in it and the 15 degree turn rate coming from a cruiser background is great too.
The Fleet Vor'cha was a good ship, but this has I think the best mix of offensive and defensive powers available. Shame it only has the standard 9 console slots though.
Has replaced my Fleet Scourge as preferred tac oriented ship.
think of that console as a console that gives you +30 to your accuracy, if nothing else. as a bonus to that you get the tachyon vampire, pointed at a bunch of spam its heal is about as powerful as of BFI doff proc, and the FAW lance is the best spam destroying thing there is.
IMO, this ship is quite decent: battle cloak, heavy firepower, decent maneuverability, and a decent amount of hull; it is essentially a hybrid of a BoP and a raptor. The lotus especially handy when you need to control a crowd, though i have yet to test it in an STF. It is a good all around attack ship.
Indeed. In a ways it's the Rapter we always wanted. A Raptor with Battlecloak and a Universal Ensign slot.
And if you decide you don't want a pure escort configuration (LTC Tactical), the LTC Engineering or LTC Science really adds to it's versitility as a Tactical Cruiser. And I find it in someways more preferable to do NWS in it than the B'rel or even the Kar'fi.
Maybe its just me, but I actually felt the loss of 5 Weapons power. Or something. My Krenn just feels more DPS-y and the turn and pivot on the Krenn put the Peghqu' to shame imho.
I may just need to try it again without it's console, maybe drop a weapon power console in to get a feel for the difference.
*shrug*
For now, I'm back to my Krenn. Either way, I still miss the look of my mostly-Birok Fleet Qin. If they ever fix it's pivot and put a Qin variant in the C-Store, I'll likely jump back in it.

The way I run it, it's squishy when the shields break. But, very capable damage dealer.
CRF3, APO1, CVS1, TT
ET, Aux2Batt, EPTS3
EPTW1, RSP1
Sci Team1, HE2
Ens - Utility (sometimes TT for chain, others TB or PH etc)
Eng consoles:
RCS, Plas Leech, Borg
Sci consoles:
Ship console, Flow cap
Tac consoles:
4x Disruptor
Mk XII Omega Set
3x Tech Doffs, 2x Shield Distro Doffs
Resist Device, Eng Batts, Weapons Batt
4x Disruptor DHCS, 3x Disruptor Turrets
Notes:
1. When shields go, gtfo w/evasives and eng batt or full power to eng
2. Disruptor weapons boost the lotus
3. I try not to abuse the glitch w/aux2batt and the shield vamp
4. I usually try and open w/APA, CVS1 and shield vamp to see whos week then APO, CRF3 etc the weak one
5. I mix in more CritH weapons' attributes since the ship has +30ACC, captain has +10 ACC and Omega Deflector has slight +ACC
6. I'm usually pugging which is why I have all the Teams. I avoid using TT till i need it in case I need to clear sci spam/snb.

If you're spec'd into flow cap and using Plas leech you really shouldn't notice the ship's loss of power.
Ok. I have now only one character using it.
My tac.
My engineer isn't having a good time with it.
Good dps or good suriveability. You can't have both.
With a tactical, you can out dps someone. With an eng you can't outdps or out survive.
I was able to make some time to play with this ship this weekend with both of my KDF chars. I started playing KDF with a Science captain which I still think of as my main character, but I rolled a tactical KDF char after a while because tactical just fits my play style better ("Stonefyre smash!").
I'm interested in the Peqhqu' because I'm not willing to pay for a KDF ship, so I'm not really considering other premium ships. Although, I have been considering the mirror Qin since the exchange prices are easily attainable.
What I found is that the Peghqu' fit my science captain beautifully. It allows me to have a heavy weapons raptor (this char leveled up in raptors), while still giving me significant science abilities. I miss not being able to carry GW3, but OmegaIII with CSVII is ultimately preferable to me. The tachyon inversion beam is a nice addition for a science oriented captain, where I'm spec'ed for that kind of ability. I may end up dropping the DTS and adding another weapons console. I also bought a set of polarized disruptor cannons for this character (something I was planning anyway).
For my tactical I think the ship is underpowered compared to some of my other options. I've been flying a Kar'fi carrier I picked up with my VA token, but I'm just not that into carriers (or maybe its just this ship). However, I don't think the Peqhqu' is the right alternative, its just not powerful enough for a tactical captain, IMHO. I'm thinking the mirror Qin may be more attractive.
