Just a quick question about the Master Key thats used on lock boxes. Can you use it on multiple boxes, or is it automatically discarded after one use? I checked the wiki, but the wiki article on the master key wasn't very clear on the matter.

The box consumes it when you use one.

In other words, both the key and the box are lost forever.

So in other words, one needs to buy a lot of keys...for a lot of boxes....

Sigh.

Or, y'know, just throw the boxes out (or sell them, if it's a discontinued line and someone wants them on the Exchange).

I wanted to build a fort out of mine, but they only stack to 10, so the walls aren't high enough.

In that case, I am totally going to build a box fort on my bridge, one that will shield my captain from the no doubt confused glances of his crew. Because that will be a lot more fun than blowing up to $10 for the 10% chance of getting a Jem'Hadar escort carrier.

HAH! that's cute.. you think you have a 10% chance of getting the prize ship

Honestly, just pitch the boxes out the airlock and sell the keys on the exchange for EC. then buy the ship you want directly off the exchange. Straightforward. Known price. And you're not gambling $200 away on a digital ship.

Yep. The only reason to open boxes, really, is if you just have to have the Lobi store items that are bound on pickup, since the crystals are as well. If you happen to get lucky while doing so, great!

You have less than a 1% chance to get one of the grand prize ships. If you're trying to get something from the Lobi Store, lockboxes are useful. If you're just going for the ship, good luck!
