STO needs more:
Ensign Cannon Skills that dont conflict with current.
More Sci DPS skills.
More Eng DPS skills

How about something like Ensign-LTC tactical, Concentrate Cannons. For every cannon you have fireing at a target you gain an extra 3%/5%/8% All damage respectively Lasting for 15s with a 30s cd... So with 1 cannon u gain 0% extra damage, with 2 you gain 3%, 3 gains 6%, 4 cannons gains 9%, 4 cannons 3 turrets will gain an extra 18% All damage by using the ensign level skill.

For Sci: Eletron Scattering Blast
LTC to CDR
Blasts shields removing all resist and negating the effects of RSP for 30 Seconds/45 seconds respectivly. Non Stacking, after dispelled, 2min resist effect. Also deals 3000/6000 shield damamge, and 5000/9000 hull damage, on a 1.5min CD.

For Eng: Weapon Backup Supply
Ensign to LTC
Backs up weapon supply cutting drain from all weapons by 25%/50%/75% for 30 sec every minute, Universals EPTW and DEM, Also increases damage done by beams by 20%/30%/40%

Another Eng: Weapon Modulation Beta
LTC to CDR
Modultes weapons to cut through shields. Increase beam damage vrs shields by 75% decrease dmg vrs hull by 25%/20% respectivly. Lasts for 30 sec, CD is 30s.
Yet Another Eng: Weapon Modulation Alpha
LTC to CDR
Modulates weapons to be a deadly force to cut through metal, Increase damage to hull by 50%, decrease damage vrs shields by 30%/20% respectivly. Lasts 30s, CD is 30s

NOTE: ALl Modulation skills 30s universal with eachother.

YET ANOTHER! Weapon Mod Delta
CDR Only
For every person on the target, the targets resistance for hull and shields drops by 5%. So with 2 ppl shooting the target is down 10% all resist, with 5 the target is down 25%, PETS DO NOT COUNT. Can be stacked, so 5 cruisers can bring a target down 125% resist. Lasts 30s CD of 1min 30s. univerals DEM

AND OTHER ENG! Gamma weapon Modulation
REQUIRES CRUISER: Ensign-LTC
Takes 25 power out of all subsystems, Weapon recieves +30/+50/+75 weapon power respectivly. The users beams cut shields. They do not bleedthrough, they ALL shield resist the target has, and they hammer on shields and smash shields. The beams will also ignore RSP compleatly. ALl DPS from cannons will be severly reduced (75%)


This will bring cruisers back as a viable option in pve!. Remeber back when a cruiser was DPS/tank/heal, Escorts were backup damage, Sci were debuff/dps/heals? I do. Now its, Cruiser Heal, Escorts DPS/Tank/Heal Sci Debuff/Heal

Wouldn't those skills be a bit powerful? The quoted one in combination with BO: same CD, negate the negative effect of the BO's power drain plus increase beam damage... I see little DBB-Deathstar-Escorts.

Overall I agree, though. I'd live to see some universal Boff skills perhaps (not tied to a single profession), to make that ensign slot a bit more flexible.

The skill u quoted was stated as Cruiser Only :p

All of these abilities are excessively overpowered. Eletron Scattering Blast would essentially be an I WIN button through several easy steps. Throw gravity well/tractor beam, sensor scan, eletron scattering blast(6000 damage to shields and 9000 to hull!), subnukeleonic beam (no more healing), torp spread II/high yield II with tricobalt...not much will survive that. This would be an ability capable of oneshotting everything except some cruisers. Even with a 5 minute cooldown it would be OP.

As for the cruiser specific abilities...a good cruiser already can't be killed by one lone escort. Do you really think it's wise to give cruisers abilities that can blow up escorts and science vessels alike in just a few shots?
