I still haven't figured why the big rush to get the mk12 sets/weapons- there isn't any end game content requiring them.
I don't particularly mind if I end up taking six months instead of the absolute-minimum 75 days or whatever. I think that Cryptic deliberately scaled the costs in order to keep us from maxing it out too quickly, just like with the starbase costs. We are not expected to reach the top tier during Season 7--they want us to still be working on our Omega/Romulan reputation into Season 9. Besides, if we could reach the top tier quickly and easily, then why would any of us even bother with the Mk XI sets instead of waiting till we reached the Mk XII ones?
You've got 52 days if you go full out. Bearing in mind rep costs if you get 8K a day you'll barely make it. It's virtually impossibble to make 8K a day every day though if you know, actaly have a life and dothings other than sit in front of the computer grinding dil all day.
The real question is: why rush?
Rushing to get everything done immediately may have its advantages, but it's strictly a personal choice.
THe forums are dead and filled with professional posters not game players.
The subject is about the need for Dilthium and alternate toons.
The most intelligent comment you guys can post is what's the rush.
I never saw once in OP or my reply anything about rushing.
LOL: Beam me up Scotty no more intelligent life here in the forums!
The only question posed by the OP was to Cryptic- only they can answer it.
As for the rest of the thread, it can be condensed into 'buy and convert as much zen as you can now, because the exchange rate will tank come S7 and it's will be harder for your multiple toons to keep up with the new system if your in a hurry'.
I don't think it's that you should only have one, I think it's intended that you only have one 'major' character. I've started this recently, focusing on my Bolian Tactical Officer. She gets the shinies, the others....get what they get. It seems to play much better this way. Shame, but it does.
This right here seems to be what STO is geared towards. I have 5 characters, but only concentrate on one at a time. The others all have to fight for any 'leftovers' that my main throws away.
