Questions:
General Thoughts on it's performance for PvP - tac focused?

Is the cloak a battle cloak? Is it a module like on the Tac Escort or built into the ship?

RCS thrusters? It has a pretty terrible turn rate for an escort - do the new turn mechanics solve this?

Is it just me or isn't this ship missing a fighter bay?

I'm looking at the Jem escort carrier and it just seems to be a better ship to this one in almost every useful way... If only photonic officer wasn't so terrible...

Can you use the consoles (including the warp core) on all ships?

Well at the least, the cloak is built-in, and is just a normal cloak. I don't have either of the new ships, so don't know the answers to the rest of your questions.

The big question for me is the exotic particle damage from the 3 piece. We're seeing a lot of that with LoR, most notably the Sci career trait, and there's a doff or two as well.

Is it enough for a specialized sciscort build in the destroyer? IDK yet, but it's one of the more interesting possibilities from this update.

I've not really done more than glance at this ship, but it looks to me like a very PvE focused ship.


CMD Tac / Tac Ensign covers most of the required bases to run cannons w/ TT.

Ltc Sci adds heals or a bit of utility (gw, usually)

2x Lt Uni leaves some flexibility to customize, but not too much. You can go 2x Eng for survivability.

Nearly the same hull and shield mod as the Fleet Vorcha, with 1 point better turn and better inertia (0.18 vs. 0.15).

4/3 weapon load.

Maybe I'm too focused on the type of ships that fit my playstyle, but at the moment I'm not seeing too much potential for this ship in PvP. If it had Ltc Eng and 2x Lt Uni, I think it would have had some excellent space as an Aux to Batts platform.





The one thing that gets me with all of these hybrids "destroyers" and "battle cruisers" is how many weapons they get.

Breen Chel Grett Warship is a destroyer, but it has 8 weapons.

Vet ship is a destroyer, but it has 7 weapons.

JHHEC is a heavy escort, but for all design purposes has more in common with these destroyers (by hull/turn), 7 weapons.

How well does the adapted destroyer work in combat given its bonus hull regen, sensor analysis, and shrapnel torpedo console / launcher? Yes, its turn rate blows, but will it still be PVP-viable with the right build?

Ens+Cmdr. Tactical? Eh, okay. Lt.Cmdr. Sci + 2x Uni Lts. is interesting, presents a number of possible setups. The console, and torpedo, are actually pretty terrible. They effects are okay, but compared to, ah, a basic Mogai, I'd take the Mogai.

Also: lulz @ AuxtoBatt, terrible.

Sure, it doesn't work for every build or role but for the handful of specific ships it does work for, it works extremely well.

its another terrible ship that would become pretty good with 2 AtB. got to love AtB, bringing crummy ships out of obscurity. my kamarang, with a 10.5 base turn rate, with 3 turn consoles can get 40 turn rate, so this ship with enough turn consoles can be cured of its worst escort turn rate ever syndrome

Has anyone gotten the Tal Shiar Adapted Battle Cruiser yet?

I got one myself, and while it's fun to fly the Narada-I mean...Borgified D'deridex, it feels...kind of short.

I mean, the Cmdr Uni is good, because like the Recluse, that gives it some major options.

Like running it as a tac, to allow for fun stuff such as CRF 3, or APO 3, or something similar.

Or run it with a sci, to have it be an almost-a-sci ship situation.

Or have an engineer in that slot, run it like a more normal cruiser/healer.



That's all well and good, but if you are looking at that, the Recluse is the superior option, mostly because it has the two hangar bays to let you run pets of your choice. I'm not saying it can't be a good ship, more that, as I see it atm, it's simply outclassed by other things.

Haven't tried the console out, but wouldn't mind giving it a shot, see how much of a cheese console it is or not, maybe find out if it's buffed by tac buffs and all that fun stuff.



Mostly been flying around in the normal PvE fare with it, getting used to flying it atm. Using an A2B build until I decide what I feel like doing with it.


PS. I REALLY hope to get the Adapted Destroyer one day for the Shrapnel torpedo.
