I can deal with it as a matter of gameplay but its hardly true that TB pets are only mildly annoying.
They are completely annoying and can lock you up just as easily as Siphon drones can shut somebody down.
Like Siphon Drones, the Danubes need a further balancing to keep them useful but not let them lockdown otehr players permanently.

The evil Klinguns are gentle and polite people...everyone know it!
This Vesta is really a very capable multirole ship, I've never seen anything like this in our arsenal, a sci vessel with a powerful punch and escort fighters.
Our R&D team has done a good job and however I admit that it's a little OP...but only a little...so don't be afraid too much evil Klinguns.
