# 1 Improve 'Aux' Power

It seems cryptic is beginning to notice that it is a liability for a ship to be running a high level of Auxiliary power to enhance some boff abilities with the new ship release.

I suggest one of two/three possible enhancements

1) Allow Auxiliary Power to grant a small passive amount of hull resistance and increase hull repair. Say 25% max resist at 125 and 100% increased repair rate from crew, this would really help out cruisers.

2) Allow Auxiliary Power to increase the speed that sensor analysis stacks are created. Say cut the speed in half at 125 power.

3) Move Shield Regeneration away from Shield Power to Auxiliary Power. I know this is a nerf to shield power but lets be honest, the Shield Distro Doff was nerfed because it healed too much shielding yet most of my ships are pushing nearly 1,000 shield regen per facing just because of high shield power which is a bit silly combined with the resistance you gain as well.

I wouldn't mind any of these ideas but the fact is that aux is already extremely strong and has an effect on BO skills that none of the others (except arguably weapons power and engines in the case of EPtA/evasives) do. You should see the difference in resist/heal scaling on science skills in particular with higher levels of aux, it gets crazy pretty fast.

I should also add that 1,000 regen isn't actually that high, especially since it comes in much less useful six-second "pulses".

I have to agree with Shimmerless. Aux is already a strong power setting. I find a high Aux is already great for so many Sci abilities and some consoles.

I do not understand the idea of moving shields from shield power to aux power.

Just the regen not the resistance nor its effect on some boff abilities.

And yes Aux is useful but you really pay a hefty price when trying to run it high (100+) unless you go torp boat or are chaining a pair of EPTX powers. For all intents and PvE purposes the vast majority of ships simple max weapons, enough engine for defense cap (sometimes), rest into shields and aux has what it has. Then you just pop a battery if you really need it.

I would prefer to have a bit more options on what an optimal power setup is even in a PvE setting and the only way to do that is to improve aux and engine or nerf weapon and shield. Right now running a high AuX is not that desirable compared to the others.

And I have done the math on the healing capacity when high aux for shields. Guess what, when chaining EPTS and TSS you will get more total effective shield even over the 15 seconds TSS is active with 125 shield power than you would with 125 aux thanks to the regen and resists. That is not even mentioning the remaining 15 seconds that the TSS is not active.

Many Sci builds run max aux all the time actually. If there's an issue with Aux power it's with EPtA, thats why high Engne and Aux power settings are rare outside of Sci/specific builds. o one uses their Emergancy Power skils. Fix those and fix hull tanking in general and you'll see peole running high Aux and igh Engine settings much more often.

If you run high Aux and High Engine power all the time you have paper thin shields and shoot pretty laser shows. Science Skills, aside from heals, are far too weak to be used as a main offensive tool to kill enemies and engine power while important, especially to an Escort, is not very useful if all you are going to do is run away all day and annoy things instead of kill them.
