# 1 Question about how to gain EC
11-11-2012, 02:33 AM
I have read on the forum and people say that its very easy to collect up to millions of EC. The thing is .. I can never reach that number. At maximim I succeeded to get up tp 2 millions EC. but thats about it. Now I am back to 30 000 EC.

.. so I ask, what am I doing wrong?

I do sell ships items on the exchange.. but it only goes for 30 000 per items mostly .. like shields and likewise.

Gaining Diplomatic points is killing my EC and clogging my bank.. since most is about these turrets doffs missions.
What is they key?

Tour the universe 1hour 1.7mil +

Borg engines, Raiding Party and Diplomatic Immunity (normally from people around Wolf 359), Purple Astrometrics Doff

After getting the Tour from the chap in the club

Leave Sol space and head for beta Urse

As soon as you transfer to Beta do a quick instance swap and you will be at the far end

From there head up to Orellis and complete there and hang a right into Eta Erandi space
go through EE as quick as you can and head to Omega Leonis and through the Klingon Gate to Borg space

When in Borg space head for the very centre point, by going through the very centre it hits all 4 sections and head straight for Fluidic space

When there you can head back to Sol via transwarp (should be on a 4-5minute timer with a purple astrometrics) - if not just before the tour get the stranded in spae assignment - it takes you just outside of sol for 100ec and reverse to sol

End the tour mission and get it again - repeat every 5 or so minutes for 200k per run

Recruiting and selling Doffs.

Try to finish the colonial & embassy Doff chains and keep running supports, asylums, officer exchanges, cultural exchanges, academy recruitment, strike against fugitive network, negotiate additional delivery of rare commodities or haggle for [gamma quadrant commodity] and sell the outcome on the exchange.

You might not make a whole lot from each sale, but the sheer mass of sales will get you EC.

Having multiple characters, so that you'll be able to take advantage of more than one Doff cooldown at the same time also helps a lot.

Do the tour, you can get 3.2m EC in the hour once you are level 50.

There is a channel called "TheRace", if you want tips you need to either ask 30m before a race or just after as the channel is dead when races aren't taking place and getting the 3.2m takes a bit of effort so people don't have many opportunities to talk during.

Outwith the race, take a look at the missions that can be replayed. A lot of them offer shields etc than sell for a reasonable amount, even if you just liqudate them in space.

You can also do a DoFF mission once you reach lvl40. It's called Negotiate delivery of rare commodities (NDORC) and is normally found in Cardassian space. This mission gives you an alien artifact that sells for around 800k at the moment. Once you complete that one, you can run the repeat version called Negotiate additional delivery of rare commodities (NADORC). There is a cool down on the second mission but you can get a nice steady income from this. Hard part is finding the first mission, people tend to be tightlipped when they come across it so that the market on the artifacts doesn't crash.

all of these are awesome ideas also STF's can be a viable source of income as 5 EDC's can net ya a item that sells for a cool 100k instantly and you get other goodies that you can either A) sell on the exchange or B) sell to the shipyard next to the omega shop. The racing event is also a huge plus as well. another thing if you power the artifact you get from the doff mission its value goes up slightly.

Bolded portion is incorrect. Once a character runs a given chain mission, they cannot ever see that mission again.

Since all 4 of my fed toons have already completed Negotiate Delivery of Rare Commodities 1/1, none of them will ever be able to "see" it come up again as they cannot repeat said mission. Since I cannot see it being up, I cannot advise anyone else on it's availability. Heck, my two science officers can't see any of the current chain missions except for the repeatables at the end of the chains as they both have completed all the active sector chains...

However, I can give a recommendation to finding NDoRC 1/1 - once every 4 hours (DOff cycle), check all 3 sectors of "Cardassian space" - Beta Ursae, Zeta Andromeda, Alpha Trianguli, and the three nebulas attached to those sectors (Rolor, Betreke, Zenas). Those 6 sectors are the only ones that can have NDoRC appear in it.

Still at it. CBS "restrictions" fell by wayside with freebie Breen. Time to re-examine ENT and ToS at tier 5, repurpose the Connie into Sci and rebuild an Akira escort into the "NX". 6 "eras", spread evenly over all the classes...

First of all, you need an engine that breaks the Warp 10 limit. Borg Assimilated engines, MACO engines, or Fleet engines can do this. Points 2-4 below require one of these engines in order to be effective.

Second, you should have AT LEAST three ranks invested in the Driver Coil captain ability. Six is even better. With six ranks and one of the above engine types, you can fly at Transwarp 18-19.

Third, you can get an extra 2.5 added to your warp factor for getting another player to cast "Diplomatic Immunity" or "Raiding Party" on you (5.0 if you get both).

Fourth, there are some Duty Officer missions under the "Personal" tab that will grant a buff to your Driver Coil skill, further increasing your maximum speed.

Fifth, any time that you are crossing an entire sector block (and if the ability is not still on cooldown), use your Slipstream Drive ability. The regular version ads 10.0 to your warp factor for 30 seconds. The Odyssey's version lasts 60 seconds, and the Vesta's version ads about 12-12.5 to your warp factor and lasts 60 seconds.

All of the above things will boost your flight speed and allow you to ultimately travel two to two and a half times as fast in sector space as the normal Warp 9.99 speed allowed with standard engines and no buffs.

The second trick to getting more money is to not fly through all sectors in the whole game universe each time. Since rewards are awarded every time you finish one "nation's" territory (Romulan, Klingon, Cardassian, Federation, etc.), it is worth skipping over entire nations. Many players will simply skip over flying through the Cardassian or Romulan regions. Meanwhile, the Orellius block (Deferi), Gamma Orionis block (Borg), and the attached one-sector Undine block are very good because you only have to fly through the single sector block to get the entire reward for that nation (50k EC for a Vice Admiral).

A very minimalist flight path would be to equip a purple Astrometrics duty officer to reduce Transwarp cooldown time to five minutes, then fly straight from Earth Spacedock to the Gamma Orionis portal, then fly straight through the exact center of the sector block (if you get it right, you will get credit for being in all four sectors in the block simultaneously), then head straight for the connection to the Undine sector on the southwest. Upon arriving in the Undine sector, drop the "Tour the Universe" mission from your list, and immediately Transwarp to Earth Spacedock. Beam onto ESD as quick as you can, and get the mission again. You've just made 100+k EC and you can do this at least ten times before the hour is over if you do everything optimally.
How many Starfleet Engineers does it take to exchange an Anti-positronic Photon Emitter?
