# 1 Formal introductions....
11-10-2012, 05:42 PM
Hello, fellow Captains of the Federation!! (And Vice Admirals, Ensigns, et cetera...as well as grizzled warriors of the Empire)

Now that I finally have a PC that can handle STO (I've been around a bit, just largely unable to play because my previous rig couldn't handle the game) I thought I'd formally introduce myself.

I'm captain of the USS Mjollnir....which I contemplated naming the Drunken Tribble...but that was probably too long.

In the mirror universe we call real life, I'm a big Alabama fan.

Anyway....I'm not so great with introductions, so...Live Long and Prosper

I'm nynik, and I stay on the forums far too late at night.

LOL slow quality would be better than my previous PC (seriously, my old PC wouldn't even load the game).

I remember being away on business for a week and only having access to a very low spec laptop. I did manage to get STO installed (which in itself almost destroyed the laptop - it was having a hissyfit). When I finally got past the main loading screen which lasted 40 minutes, the character selection screen looked like a Monet watercolor painting. It suffices to say that the laptop didn't load into STO any further and died in a most violent way, ejecting a little puff of black smoke and all.

When I finally got back to my home computer I literally patted it like a beloved family pet and then proceeded to log into STO gleefully, having experienced the bottom of the barrel for 'quality'.

So inhumane superweapons, mass murder, and canon nonsense is okay, but speedos are too much for some people.

Skirt the edge of the Briar Patch, and keep spamming space bar to clear any gas clouds that get within 10km (if you get them just as they come into range, you'll not be damaged by them).
