The defense stat is a bit artificial. If you fly in front of another ship, and you both have the same speed and vector, by the current rules, you will still be harder to hit when you are faster.

How about changing the whole Defense stat to something dynamically computed from relative speed between attacker and attacked? Would it be possible? Would it be desirable? What would follow out of it?

To clarify, by "relative speed" I mean "the difference in the vectors between the attacking ship and the attacked ship". Soif you move at 10 in one direction and your target is moving at 5 in the opposite direction, the speed for determining effective Defense of the two would be 15.
