I have seen some amazing teamwork take place in PuG Estfs. Some really good crazy stuff when a few people really know what they are doing. I also try and always pack 'force multipliers' on my Estf builds. Like Attack Pattern Beta instead of Omega. Gravity Well and Chrono Torps to setup the mass destruction. Things like that.

Just ran a fleet action, got 2nd place. Got a drop worth about 5 mil EC. Could have had 2 if I wasn't using my STF ship. Guess what abilities I will not be bringing to those ever again

PS: FAs do not in any way require teamwork, nor do they reward it. So why should I do it? It is awesome, finally some group content I can Kirk out in without anyone to complain. Or is it suck, not sure.
My argument is if you want it faster you will need team work, but hey I agree I love not having to worry about someone screaming at someone else in chat...although they are fun to watch at times.

If I want what faster? Dilithium I would get with other means at a faster rate. Loot drops no I will get faster by going Kirk style.

*edit*
I think I understand the source of confusion here. You see in the vast majority of MMOs and I'm sure for a very good reason there are highly desireable rare-ultra rare loot drops that are highly desired by the players. STO used to have this in the STFs, now it has been moved to the FAs but only for the high scorers. That is the issue.

Oh I agree, I secretly feel a small amount of pleasure when I watch a tactical captain die in the fleet actions. Straight up DPS is a terrible, awful, and unsportsmanlike way to determine end game loot from fleet actions. As an engineering captain I built my ship to tank end game content. Donatra's torpedo volley is like water off a ducks back to me, but dps? Dps should not be the end all determination of end game content or else there's no point in being anything other than a tactical captain in an escort.

Elite STFs required teamwork and coordination as well as dps. Fleet actions are selfish free-for-alls that are a poor replacement for what they replaced.

If you're only doing it for the drops then yeah beating people and being on top is your goal, but if you're there for the Dil, does not really matter what your rank is as long as it gets done as everyone gets the same Dil . If you have fleet mates and friends then team work is great and is not effected when you want to farm the FA fast and get it done quickly so you can jump on the next FA to get more Dil.
BranFlakes is my interface to the Dev Team, I am hoping he will make a note for this feature request to be submitted to the Dev Team.... enough people point out the flawed approach to a team event then maybe they will re-balance the Fleet Events.

I like the idea of having a timer for an optional win in the fleet actions where everybody gets a random goodie. That said, my engineer in a tac oddy has pulled second place a couple of times and I heal/extend anyone in range because that's my nature.

This blows my mind. If you dont like the game dont play it.

And whocares about ultra rare drops. This game doesnt need em. 0 content in this game requires endgame gear. The only think not vendor trashed in this game are a handful of consoles and purple weapons.

Everyone crying whats in it for me is tiresome. Play the game to play the game. This is an extremely basic and simple mmo. There are no restrictions on content except for level. Most mmo's not only make you buy expansions but then make you complete the story arc before you get access to grind the end game gear which them becomes irelevant when the next expansion comes out.

This is a casual mmo by definition. Log on run 2 or 3 10-30 minute events. Do a project and log off. The new season emphasises that. The grind in this game is miniscule compared to other mmo's.

And dont say stfs require teamwork. Ive played dozen of pugs where not one word wa said everyone did their thing we got optional and left. This is just crying because cryptic made it so you cant play just one thing and get all ur crap.

If they want to throw rewards out, perhaps they should base it on the time it took for completion. Or better yet, a combination of time to complete with the least amount of deaths. That would promote team play.
This sounds like a good solution at first but unless the difficulty were massively ramped up you'd still find Tac is king. And that doesn't mean simply adding more/bigger/beefier enemies.

I don't really need the dil, but you're damn right I want the purples. I've never been more loaded in my short history here.

Yup, I want the purples too...but I would like to be able to use my other toons to do it.

Make it team oriented, not a DPS yard stick.

I thought we all knew by now that the only reason cruisers are in this game is to give it some semblance of Star Trek.
