Elite STFs are totally buggered to hell and gone. Just got out of one KASE match that lasted 32 freaking minutes. EVERYTHING resisted damage way more than normal. All shielded ships like spheres and cubes were regenerating shields like mad, when they weren't screaming across the map to chase down random aggro targets (not me in most cases) at speeds that would make E-MC^2 blush. Regardless, I run a battlecruiser with DHCs and more than maxed out weapons power on this build, and I was doing 2800 dps according to the logs, despite having the most damage on the team by a long shot: over 5,000,000 dealt. Further, in a 2/3 split myself and an escort pounded the gate mercilessly with DHCs and torps for at least 10 minutes straight before it went down. The damage numbers scrolling up over top of it were barely reaching 1000 many times.

WTH!??!

After we blow the gates, and yes it took the other 3 folks just as long as us 2 to blow theirs, we rush over to help mop up on other side, only to find they have already mopped up. 2 spheres left. I latch onto one and fire away as I'm closing, evasive past and drop a TCD (purple mk XII borg) right in it's unshielded face. I look back and see a nice massive boom with a bright 92k crit damage notice.....

Only....

It took the sphere down from about half (just over half) to about 1/4 hull. Against a bare hull. No spec of shields on the thing.

WTF??!??!

Damage inside STFs is royally fubared right now. You just can't do any. Inert ships like nanites seem to be same as ever, but neghvar nanite defenders were freaking touch as Hades to shoot down as well as super-fast evasive-maneuvering around to aggro random targets also, and among other things donatra seemed to be regenerating shields like mad (more than normal) and be resistant to most damage while shields were up.

Seriously... why? Devs want to freaking sour the milk so bad nobody EVER STFs AGAIN. Why??

yep they're broken and no one seems to care. I've played them a thousand times and never seen anything like it until S7 and the devs are all in denial. "we haven't made any changes to STFs" LIES never have i seen a sphere fly at those speeds, or so many people get one shotted. and im pretty sure plasma fires are stacking/doing some very weird things. The borg torps are spamming like crazy. its madness.

They don't have to touch the STF's themselves, jsut modify somehting that ties INTO the STF's.

I have played a few normal stfs just to see what they were like. I use to could tank normal stfs pretty easy. I have never died in a normal stf with my fleet patrol escort, but for the last 2 days I have been getting really close. I have to really micro manage my tac team and EPtS. That is something I have never had to do unless I was in elite stfs.

Unlike yours, my crits have seemed to gone up. I have been killing borg birds of prey really quick. Like I said though, this is on the normal stfs, so really no comparison there. I will have to try a few elites and see what I can do.

They are definitely a bit harder, but I'm still easily getting the optionals in PUGs. I have to fly my escort like an escort now(as opposed to just stationary tanking stuff), and i have to be careful with my AoE... but those are all good things.

The only one that may need to be tuned abit is the new Hive one, but I'd hold off a couple weeks on that to see what strategies evolve.

I haven't logged any parses to check damage changes for players, but I feel like I'm doing the same damage I always did. It's really just a incoming damage increase from Borg ships, specifically cubes and the plasma dot.

I do recommend favoring hazard emitters and hull heals more than previously. I swapped my transfer shield And hazard emitter slots around so that I had HEII, and I'm considering dropping transfer shield entirely for another Hazard Emitter. And your definitely better off now with an Aux to Structure than a reverse shield polarity.

Overall I'm happy with the changes.

Don't take this the wrong way but 2800 DPS is pretty low for an escort. I checked with a couple of logs of random people and they average about 5500 dps (they can go as high as 10k+) on an escort and about 3500 for a cruiser.

This would explain why your match lasted so long and that the enemies shield seems to be regenerating so fast, you just weren't doing enough damage. You were essentially soloing these enemies.

You have to realize that most of the veteran players with their complete builds are no longer doing stfs and pumping out the dps you're used to since they have complete builds (MK XII). What you are left with are people that are building up their ships to get the complete sets. Say hello to mk X whites and possibly lower! That's not even factoring that newer players don't play as well as veteran players as they aren't as used to the skils.

Now imagine the ground, say goodbye to people with full remods doing ground stfs on elite!

omegapink speaks the truth. combine that with the looky loos for season 7 and team missions in general are harder.but yeah, 2800 dps on an escort is pretty bad.

however, i do notice that there has been a change to the power system recently. season 7 changed something with the systems power cap. my weapons when firing 3x dhcs adn 3x turrets prior to s7 would not dip below 100. now i see it going down into the 80's. it definitely affects a person's overall dps. how much? who knows. but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

p.s. i'm still waiting for an omegapink. doubtful that i'm going to get it with all the new grinds, but i can be hopeful, eh?

OP stated that he was running a battlecruiser. Escort was the ship pounding the gate.

Sorry, you're right. But a BC running DHC's with full weapon power does the same amount of damage as an escort with DHC's with full weapon power.

He also did mention he did the most damage of his team, if this is true then my point still stands, they weren't doing enough damage. And I think it's because the quality of players in STF's (DPS wise) are going to be way lower then what we have been used to in the past.

They made it difficult because people were asking for it. Search for their names in forums and you'll find who. Then send your PMs to them or a call out thread would do the job
How to really behave in online forums with developers
