So I finally got around to getting a secondary weapon from my fleet but what should I get or maybe stay away from ?

Obviously my first instinct was a KB3 shotgun but looking it over I noticed the advanced ones have more dps than the elite ?

I also figure advanced have the classic stf shop skins, only elite looks new?

Does anyone know what gun it is in the store vendor's front panel, it's looks exactly like the maco sniper only the nose is cut off.

I have the maco sniper and the smg so I sort of feel like a shotgun would be great but should I get something else?

Elite Splitbeam is a nice gun to complement the sniper for range work. Shotgun is also nice for close quarter combat.

What about the skins, the advanced ones have the old skins and the elite have unique?

Then which weapon is the maco sniper without the nose?

For Fed I like using a Fleet Advanced antiproton pulsewave DMGx3 CritX. I like it better then the elite one because i want more damge, not a shield heal.

For KDF I use my HG pulsewave so use a long rage fleet weapon as a back up like a Fleet AP splitbeam or sometimes a blast assault if I dont need quite as much range.

Full auto is also a decent choice if you're mainly looking for ranged DPS, though not so much against Borg unless you don't mind remodulating every time you use your secondary.
