A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
Against regular cubes i take the HY hit on purpose when point blank just to kill the cube faster in escorts, brace for impact helps.
Tac ones just shoot 'em down. You see when they activate the buff just save your AE for when they fire and it is easy as pie. If you really have issues with them bring tractor beam repulsars and activate it when they fire the torp it'll pop it invis or not.
Don't get hit by the giant, slow moving, destructible plasma ball of death. It's suppose to one-shot you for being stupid.
Either move away from it or shoot the damn thing down. This is STOs version of standing in the fire, it's a stupidity test.
If your one of those people who likes to pretend that every Heavy Plasma torpedo he gets hit by is invisible, then run scatter volley or FAW and you'll kill them without even trying.
Yeah, I use TBR when point blanking cubes, works great.

This nonsense is what 99% of the forum complains about in regards to the Borg. No tac team, no EptS, heavy shield damage on two facings, 15% hull damage, and not a defensive cooldown in sight; complaining they got one-shot. That's not a one-shot, that's the player being terrible. Notice this guy says he's played 400+ days... this is extremely common in this game, a fundamental lack of understanding of game mechanics.
I've yet to see a single video of a person who inexplicably died from 100% hull/shields where it wasn't 100% his fault.
Don't get me wrong, nobody is perfect. I die every single day I play this game. But it's always my fault. Sometimes luck may be a little bit harsh, but it's always a situation I put myself in.
From my end of things, I run cruisers, with the MACO Mk XII space set, with consoles and such meant to tank things like Tac cubes. Just did a ITHSE a couple nights ago, died one time due to having all my defensive skills on cooldown, and the team got the Optional at the end, after taking down the Queen Diamond.
So, I'll make it short, and to the point.... it's all Elite. heed the advice of above posters, and prepare as best you can, and/or bring a healthy amount of ship heals-consumables. Don't go all in for offense only, as the Elite runs (space anyway) are about endurance and playing smart. If you still get one shot, eh, hope the timer for respawn is short, and fly back into the fray.
Complaining, as much as such is desired, isn't going to change anything. So might as well play and plan to your character career and ship strengths, and keep working that rep to get the better gear, since there's soon (within the month for most,) won't be an excuse not to have quality STF grade gear, for most other than the pure casuals.
So, how can we defend something that is invisible?
You have to 'feel' it with the force.
No seriously, after hundreds of STFs, I just know when a invisible torpedo will hit. As soon as I have aggro, I wait 5 seconds, and then I hit evasive manouver, Power to shields and brace for impact, park my ship at 15km distance and wait for the invisible hit, that brings my shields down and leaves me with 20% hull and burning. Hit Hazard emitter and back into the game

Wouldn't it be faster to just take the hit, blow up, and respawn? :/
