And yeah, I usually pugged. I suppose that changed things somewhat, but I often played with fleet mates too. They were usually kinda hurrying and only talked when they needed to. Fleet chat was always more social than anything in STFs. People in my fleet still get together to play STFs when they want to. Maybe not as often, but it's not like we simply stopped playing STFs...
Due to the changes in 7 my fleet has gone from active to dead on it's feet.

Several have quit the game and a few have moved on to bigger fleets citing the grind as being too much for them with personal rep and fleet rep to consider.

You're happy with it that's fine, but you're in the minority on here and the major chat channels.

You may argue the forum is only filled with people who complain, but the truth is if a large number of players genuinly loved season 7 they'd be on here defending and there not.

What this means for Cryptic/PWE/PW is something has gone wrong. It's common for business to try and get customers to accept higher pricing or extra costs associated with a product... but when it doesn't work the success of the business becomes based on how rapidly they deal with their mistake.

That's.... interesting. Most of the people in my fleet just continued business as usual. Yes fleet mark acquisition has slowed, but we're still continuing forwards.

MMOs aren't charities. Corporations are supposed to make a profit. It's what they do.

I have a very small fleet, we only started out midway through Season 6, the larger fleets I think are largely unaffected but Season 7 has caused major damage to small fleets especially ones that aren't run by a close group of friends who know one another outside the game.

The fleet I'm in pretty much dried up 1 or 2 months after S6 introduction, from like 10 to 15 active people to 3 maybe 4.

Season 7 has not brought even one of them back from what I've observed.

I thank you are on the right track. I started in bata when you looked like your ship was a yoyo but pwe has made this to much, 40 ho. just to do one thing that will do you no rill good! and you have to grind till you fill like just letting the borg take over, to get on where fast seems to be the game there making and it is just to much crap for this lifer. If thay do not do something soon for the people who have loved star trek for ever shows and games then we should just log off and find someone that is willing to do what the players wish!!!!

The one "catch" with this viewpoint is that you're looking at the system in isolation.

Remember, supposedly the reputation system was designed to work within one hour blocks 3 days a week. Yeah, the project timers are possibly too long, but they seem to work in making it where you don't need to invest hours a day trying to keep up with the system (unlike starbases that make you feel like you need to be on 24/7, for smaller fleets you need to be on this long just to make the inputs, larger fleets you need to be on 24/7 to catch your chance to contribute...)

So far, and I've cleared tier 1 on both Rommie and Omega reps, I had plenty of time to grind on the starbase if I wanted to, though, honestly, grinding the starbase has gotten old after a full season of nothing but the base...

That, and right now, their "let's play different parts of the game for Dilithium" trick isn't quite worth it - needing 4-6 dedicated hours to max dilithium (Cryptic's plan per their blogs) when I am lucky to get 2-3 semi-uninterrupted hours kinda deters me from getting heavily involved in the dilithium economy, though I know this will bite me in the backside in the future...

Still at it. CBS "restrictions" fell by wayside with freebie Breen. Time to re-examine ENT and ToS at tier 5, repurpose the Connie into Sci and rebuild an Akira escort into the "NX". 6 "eras", spread evenly over all the classes...

For me the 3 days a week 1 hour block thing is the real killer, because most of my gaming will be on the weekend and now instead of getting a good few hours of STF's and community fun I get one or two ISE's. Terrible.

One suggestion I think would help (besides the timer reduction/removal); collapse all the currencies into just Fleet Marks..... so the Starbase, Embassy, and Rep System use Fleet Marks for all projects.

STO seems to cycle back and forth with expanding and consolidating currencies with the evolution of this MMO.

Change all the missions to pay Fleet Marks and Dil instead of having to be forced into certain missions....more flexibility in how to play.

Thx
Locutus

Either that or do away with marks and just use reputation XP for each thing... but I actually really like your idea of consolidating all mark currencies into one, it needs to be called something other than a fleet mark... maybe just a mark

But in truth the mark currencies are their way of forcing people to play different content.

Yes, we need more flexibility and content....less PWE Grind of the same missions

I still have visions of SouthPark where Cartman is in his mother's basement for weeks on end leveling up his WOW character.... killing sheep over and over again

Thx
