I can run the patrol mission in 20mins without repeating a single mission, but I find being on new romulus more fun and profitable for marks by answering distress calls. I also like running Mine Trap which rewards the marks too.

I cant see how it would take anyone an hour to run the space patrol, although that aweful trade mission could eat up a lot of time which is on my avoid at all cost list.

I like SB234. If I (eng/cruiser) can get it down to about 80% health, I bet a team of good escorts could kill it.
I reduced the starbase to 0 health with my tac/fleet defiant with some time left on the clock. My engineer/odyessey, on the other hand, is in the 80% range.

Oh, waitaminnit! Silly me!
I forgot! A lot of people think, 'purple' and 'MACO' are the five most important things in the whole world!
I'm sorry but this is just trolling - doing the patrol missions requires nothing more than pointing your ship in the right direction and letting autofire do the rest - you'd fail even the easiest of the Elite space STFs if you tried that (well, maybe not 'fail' but you'd certainly never complete it...)

This is a game the STFs have gameplay - you know - rules, tactics, consequences and failure conditions - the patrol missions for the most part have none of these.

And out of the two - yes, I'd rather be playing STFs but I can't get Rom Marks that way.

Sorry if you took my remarks that way. I can see now where someone might. I do not take myself seriously so I find it very difficult to take others seriously. I was attempting to make a joke and it fell flat. Because I appear to be telling it to the wrong audience. I apologize profusely for offending you so very badly. Such was not my intent. I find there is a serious lack of people around STO with a sense of humor about anything. I wish the Dev Team would fix this. After all they're asked to do the impossible every day. So this request should be easy for them to get to.

As to "pointing and letting AutoFire do the rest." I may just have to take some exception to this remark. I am just as good as any FanBoy at acting all righteously indignant when people appear to publicly disparage my somewhat limited gaming skills. In fact, last time I checked I can hold my own with the very best of the "I'm all butthurt! Waahh!" crowd. I am also F2P. I have exactly zero MACO, Omega or KHG gear. Never saw the need for it. Did craft an Aegis Set or two. Not bad at all if used correctly. I also turn off the Normal Setting the second I am ingame. Boring to know one cannot die and even if one does, there are no real consequences for it. And when or if I decide to subscribe, I won't have to ask Mommy or go sell blood for the coin to do so.

Wow! Really? Whoa! Never saw that one coming! It's like, like..the InvisiTorp in ISE! Highly technical stuff there! I think I may have heard these words before somewhere. I know! It was...It was... -

Yup. All mine. Used to play a game called Star Trek: Armada II as well. Perhaps you've heard of it? Probably not. Wrote a few mods for this one. Physics Mod Versions 1 thru X. Improved Single Player Campaign. Battlestar Galactica Half Race Mod. The list gets tiresome after while. I also think it is a little gauche to go parading around with my bona fides strapped to my hat, so I try not to. But in this case, I may just need to ignore that rule.

Now, for those of you at the tl;dr stage, please allow me to recap. (cue Soap Opera music) Our Story so far...

1) I posted something which was intended as a joke which someone did not clearly understand was intended as a joke.

2) The individual in question did the deadliest thing one can do. He/She assumed something about me. And we all know what happens when one assumes.

3) I am in the process of explaining why these assumptions are incorrect.

I will turn fifty one next February. I am too tired and too fat to run. I am also far too old to be scared of what others may think of me.

My, aren't we feeling pleased with ourselves?

But however clever you think your response is, the fact is you were trolling i.e. posting inflammatory remarks which given Cryptic's recent mishandling of the STF community really isn't the smartest thing to do.

Was I offended? No - just tired of the constant calls to nerf this or make that easier - there's plenty of easy content in the game already - there's no need to make the few remaining challenges in this game even easier than they already are.

And if you take exception to my comment about letting autofire do the work then by all means come and join me and hundreds of other players in the Elite STF channels where we'll be happy to show you the most challenging content this game has to offer and play through it with you as a team each doing their part.

I'd venture you've never needed the STF gear because you've never tried to get the optional on Infected Ground where every second you have counts - or perhaps because the unique qualities of the MACO space shield are unnecessary to someone who's idea of a challenge is playing patrols on the so-called 'Elite' setting.

Again, if you truly enjoy a challenge I invite you to try some of this content - it's genuinely the only 'challenging' gameplay STO has.

As for your modding chops - congrats kiddo - I'm sure it impresses your mom but it doesn't impress me - I've fired people with more talent than you. But hey - if it makes you feel important then knock yourself out.

Ah, yes, it's been so long since I've flown tac/escort that I've forgotten just how much more damage they can do.

The combat patrols are ok if I'm in the mood to shoot something, but if I just want to get things done in a hurry I just do acamar. And I'm never, ever herding grekli or doing that stupid trading mission.
Idk about the Fed side, but for KDF I can just shoot them no dialog needed. It's a couple of waves that die quick. For pure farming I'd just repeat this one.

I have zero desire to heard in space. Not sure why the worst fleet action was put in here, other than a few people liked it I guess.

I'm stuck w/an item from trading mission, not a fan of those either. Again, I can see why some may want an alternative to the pew pew though.

The DSE 1s are usually done by the time I get there, so I avoid those.

The starbase I was able to drop to zero w/a Tac before the timer ran out on normal. On elite I would have needed to redo my build to take into account the souped up torps which I wasn't interested in doing. This one has the most potential imo. Though it's rewards seemed low for it's length.

I like the one where you attack the starbase, I even stayed long enough to see if I could completley destroy it, but sadly it became unattackable after reaching 0 health. I also like the ones where you blow up 5 waves of ships. I dont like the one where you scan artifacts, I just warped out of that one.

weyland, I will speak slowly and use small words in simple sentences.

My first post was not trolling, but a joke. You did not see that way. Not my problem any more.

As a matter of fact I do feel very good about myself. Never once been fired from any job. My college age kids will make the Dean's List this semester. Again. A full load and a part time job and neither of them have missed a beat.

Say what you like and post what you please. Done with this. Takes two to have an argument. You are obviously spoiling for one. Decided to be the bigger man and let you roll. I have other people who matter more to me to interact with.

Short version: You won! Because I let you win. yay for you.
