I am a VA Engi captain and I am looking for a new ship. I play mostly PVE and am looking for a good ship and build. What advice or suggestions would you make? All ideas and suggestions are welcome!
Currently I am flying the Advanced Heavy Retrofit. I do like it but I have been experimenting with builds. And also looking for a new ship. I am in a fleet but we don't have a Tier IV shipyard...yet. So I am looking for a good build and ship for solo and team PVE
Well the Fleet Excel is currently the single best fed tac cruiser though if you are looking for a change have a play with with the fleet Nova, it competes well with the fleet excel if you get the build right
Could always hit the Exchange, pick up the Mirror Universe Deep Space Science Vessel. It'll let you try out science with some tankiness and turning ability and for much cheaper than a z-store ship.
If you have the money to do it the Mobius Temp Destoryer, is the way to go. You get the teeth of an escort, and can tank... I can tank against a Tac Cube on elite, but its 800 Lobi crystals

you can also find the Temporal Destroyer on the Exchange.

Curse you Archived Post.... you stole all my Ideas.
Thanks for all of the responses so far! Question, what is the real advantage of taking a sci ship over a engi ship (i.e. cruiser)?
The same advantage you'd get taking a different class of ship out. Different attributes and setups, different emphasis on strategy and ability use.
Science ships have better Science bridge stations and usually more science console slots, which means you get to use high-end science abilities like Gravity Well and Viral Matrix. Science ships have good shields but lower hull, and can turn better than cruisers, so they're better with narrow-arc weapons like dual beam banks etc.
If you fly a Vesta you'll also get the benefit of being able to run a dual-cannon escort-style weapon layout.
Big carriers like the Atrox and Voquv are probably the most "different" experience out there compared to the usual stuff.
