Are Bridge Officer Slots ship or level dependent or can you only increase them by buying slots with Zen?

I have several BOFFs in waiting and I thought when I got to 20 and got a new ship that I would get a new slot for at least one of them, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I looked ahead and level rewards and I got several more BOFFs coming. So will I ever get more slots for them IN GAME or do I have to buy the slots with Zen?

When you get to lv 50 you get few slots free.

After that you have to buy the bridge officers slots with zen.

Didn't see any limit how many you can have.

This is true for 'Gold' (subscription) accounts.... 'Silver' (F2P) accounts don't get another BO slot until you hit Captain, according to the F2P Feature Matrix, and the total number of 'free' additional BO slots is lower... http://sto.perfectworld.com/about/fr...eatures-matrix.

In addition to the in-game BO slots, you can always purchase more slots (per character) from the Z-Store...
