Any ship can excel for solo missions, but... if you already have your vice admiral ship, why not check out one of the mirror universe ships? You should find them on the exchange, and can easily get a cruiser. (Star cruiser may be a neat change of pace for your sci!) and they aren't too pricy. Its tanky, can do decent damage if outfitted properly and seems like the type of ship that would be out on its own.

I bought the mirror star cruiser and deep space sci vessels. I'm not sure I'm setting up the Star Cruiser correctly though because I popped in it several times on its first outing with New Romulus fleet patrols.

He wants to know about which ship is best at soloing stuff and that's escorts. They get the job done in an acceptable timeframe. If you set up your ship in a good way or as a failboat is a totally different question.
