True to an extent, but there is usually at least some form of variety to it. Different endgame instances to run, different leveling paths, different content choices, etc.
Here it's literally "do the same quest 25 times".
Well, it's just for one month, a bigger issue for me personally is that all this dev time goes into something so transient.
I'd love to see some more featured episodes - stuff that actually advances the storyline - instead I get to go ice skating and fly a new ship in old missions.
Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have this than nothing - I guess that's a sign of how low my expectations have become with this game though...

To get the Breen ship (without opening up the magical wallet), you have to do one quest 25 times. The same quest. Twenty five times. On twenty five different days. You can't swap in and out a separate quest. No variety whatsoever.
The post I was replying to was making the comment that, at it's core, MMO gameplay is repetitive. I was responding with the fact that while that is fundamentally true, there is usually some attempt to inject something resembling variety into the equation.
Based on what I've heard, the race takes less than 5 minutes. A day.
If you do your math, assuming that it IS 5 minutes, you get a total of, guess what, 145 minutes. That's slightly less than 2 and a half hours, but spread throughout 25 days.
And how many hours are there in 25 days again? Anyone?

Oh, lovely, I can't even requote the Douglas Adams quote I used to have here I WANT IT BACK!!!!

The race was a pain to get onto last year as only 1 person can do it at a time, and generally the person with the least lag got selected as they could press F first. Having to do it for 25 days will be a chore this year if the higher number of players is anything to go by now we have f2P. I only hope this mechanic has been fixed, and also the chances of griefers knocking people off the track are astronomical.
This will likely be as much of a Fiasco as the beer fight for the LoTRO 5th anniversary.

Okay... that explains why some people are complaining about it. I sure hope they changed that.

Well, there will just be more instances than last year. i assume the numbers of players in any given instance will roughly be the same as last year.
So no better or worse than.
