The moving speed on those torps must be improved... Maybe the ideal speed would be like the breen torpedo mine cluster thinghie, but that is ideal. What I would like to see on them is an acceleration factor.
Keep the current speed when they get fired and then slowly accelerate their speed as the time passes. That way, fast moving ships would get outrun by the torps eventually (in like 15-25 seconds from being fired), and it wont hurt the slow moving terror bringer kind of feeling or make them unbalanced.
As it stands out now, they are kind of useless in pvp even with that set that increases their movement speed . Thank you for reading!

Agreed, these high yield plasmas are so slow that my escort can outrun them at base cruising speeds in attack mode. -.-

Isn't this canon though as I believe in the episode the Balance of terror that the Enterprise outran a plasma torpedo at full cruising speed.

Well, the point here is to make them more balanced, at the moment they really are too slow and that is a drawback to both pvp and pve. At the Queen space STF mission, you have to stay at a decent range from the unimatrix ships and switch targets to kill all regenerator probes. By the time my torpedo reaches the probe, it is long dead ^^ (thanks to the other players ). As for pvp, everyone that has decent mobility wont get hit, and that is like 80% of the pvp base .

No, that was at full reverse warp speed, not impulse cruising speeds.

i wouldn't mind them speeding the torp up a bit. My only concern is the devs may nerf the damage of the torp as well. maybe the slow flight speed is to off set it firing 3 torps at a time that all can be effected by high yield. Don't get me wrong i would love to see the speed bumped up but not at the cost of slower reload or drop in dps.

Im not all that impressed with the dps at the moment, they are decent but nowhere close to imbalanced. They have a direct damage mode that is even lower then a transphasic torpedo and a damage over time component (known as DOT). The sum of those two SHOULD make them a little more powerful then the other torps out there.
But that is just plain theory. In reality, the dot doesn't always apply (I don't know why), It's not burst damage so it most likely not always be as effective as a full quantum spread on unshielded hull (remember it has low base damage), In pvp the dot can be easily cleansed by Hazard Emitters, the torpedo itself can be DESTROYED in case you guys forgot.
And I dont even wanna begin telling you about a beta patter III on 2x Trico mines that STACK at a wonderful 30 sec firing rate compared to all other mines in this game that DON'T stack not even at 25% more firing rates (tested). so basically, with Beta 3 you can fire 4x 30k damage trico mines every 30 sec for a whooping 120k damage NON CRIT, on open hull (they can hit as high as 120 k damage/mine on crit depending on consoles and capitain skills).

THAT IS UNBALANCED, and would be nice if it gets fixed somehow.

And some other supposedly op clan uses these alot.... what clan was it? ooooh yeah, the borg.

Let's give people more reasons to complain in stf's

The 2-piece Reman set bonus ability gives a nice speed increase to High Yield plasma torps. Im sure it also increases damage slightly too.
