I'm trying to play a Star Trek game here for fun (yes, people do that). I don't want to log on and see a very hairy orion male go past me. Besides, Starfleet officers and Klingon warriors in midriff clothing in just disturbing to think about. So, um, please no.
male orions have the option to be topless along with gorn, no hair at all
and do i have to point out the worst offender in starfleet for showing off some skin?
Yes midriffs would be nice for males, do I think we will get them: nope.
Chalk it up to good old sexual stereotypes, homophobia, and cowardice. Same reason the males get undershirts while females do not with the open jackets.
Orion males are as hairless as the most elite of male strippers. I occasionally run one done up to maximum sexiness in the hopes of making the "Never stopped being 14" players uncomfortable.
I might reroll him again now that this thread brought it up.
Regardless, this game needs more variety in it's costumes and character creator.
Yeah, my main KDF character, as well as some of my Feds Bridge Officers are Orion males with the lightest skin tone available in the green colour spectrum (so in most lighting conditions, they look human).
Personally, I don't understand what the big deal is with male midriffs, or male characters being shirtless in this game.
I suspect this is the sole reason why we don't have "Risa swimwear" since females can already have them by buying a mirror universe costume set, and TOS costume set. But males cannot.
But look at these other MMOs....
Guild Wars 2 - Has a male armour that is a cropped. I believe its the gladiator armour of sorts, inspired by the Romans.
SW:TOR - recently introduced the "Covert Energy Torso" armour when their F2P went live.
CO and DCUO - Quite possible to have male characters that show a lot of skin. My CO character even has a crop midriff shirt even though he is male.
Age of Conan - duh!
Tera Online - Nuff said...and before you wonder about my sig....there are many real life ships named Leander...
