# 1 Deflector Officers on strike?
12-08-2012, 11:20 PM
I have 2 Deflector Officers on Active Space Duty, providing the opportunity to reduce deflector ability cooldowns. It even says in the description of the officer's ability that it affects the bridge officer ability I'm using (Energy Siphon III).

I also have 3 Damage Control Engineers, and 2 different Emergency Power abilities.

Now... while outside Earth Spacedock, I check the tooltip in my powers menu.

Both Emergency Power abilities list the Damage Control Engineer's abilities. Three times, in fact, one for each active duty officer.

I check the Energy Siphon tooltip and it lists nothing additional to what the power does, as if the Deflector Officers are sleeping or something. I figured... try it anyway. So I go into Azure Rescue and test the ability several times (at least 5). No dice, every time I end up with a 1 minute cooldown. Just about every time I activate an Emergency Power ability, however, I get the trigger and the cooldown drops.

Granted, I know the percentages are different. Just thought someone should know.

Sec tor space is a bad location to check for space powers. Most of your Captain skills and BOFF traist skills don't work in Sector Space. You need to check inside of a planet space instance like Sol or inside of a space mission instance.

When I checked the powers list outside ESD for those Emerg. Power skills, the duty officer trigger showed up in the effects description. They were also there in battle, when I moused over the abilities.

Neither for the Deflector Officers.

Anyone else out there using Deflector Officers?

Any devs paying attention? I think these officers are bugged.

Didnt know you could spec two deflector officers at once,

I have a sci captain, and one purple deflector officer, it shows up on my tool tips for energy siphon and other powers.

And I do notice that the cool down is reduced sometimes.

Sorry !

Update: The Deflector Officer trigger IS listed when I mouse over my JemHadar Deflector Dish, in the Ship Status window. Twice, once for each officer. It is NOT listed in the powers menu in system space, nor is it listed when I mouse over Energy Siphon III.

Thought this information might help someone figure it out.

Edit: I believe you can slot up to 3.
