Leap Frog Basically

(((most people fail to realize the mobs warp out just a few seconds after the trapped ship escapes )))

1. Split into two teams, one team of the two strongest and one team of the other three ships (in a PuG assume everyone is equal strength unless you know otherwise, ina premade it's easy to assign teams before starting the mission)
2. If two man team, one flys in first and aggros all mobs (two man team should have two fly in and get aggro unless one is strong enough to so it alone)
3. Second member of the of two man team trails in and flies right into the mouth of the tractor bay (if three man team this will be the third member or preferably two members if one can aggro alone) BE CAREFUL TO NOT SHOOT ANYTHING IF YOU ARE THE TRAILING MEMBER
4. The NON-AGGRO GRABBING MEMBER WHO TRAILED IN LATE should keep spinning back there in the very heart of the tractor bay back BEHIND THE TRAPPED SHIP and disable all four beams as fast as you can BE SURE AND DROP TO HALF OR QUARTER IMPULSE WHEN YOU FIRST HIT THE BACK OF THE BAY SO YOU CAN SPIN TIGHTLY AND NOT LEAVE THE HIDING SPOT OR GET OUT OF RANGE OF THE DISABLE FUNCTION
5. The NON-AGGRO MEMBER who has been disabling tractor beams should then move out to the next target group as soon as the trapped ship is free (you will hear an announcement [["A ((insert ship type name here)) has escaped!!"]] when the ship escapes and go immediately aggro the next group (TRY TO GET AWAY AND MOVE OUT BEFORE ANYTHING CAN TARGET YOU)
6. As soon as red alert clears for the AGGRO GRABBER, they will now be in a position to trail in and free the next trapped ship (your teammate should already be well in place with full aggro by the time you can get there)

Using this method you can free ships in less than a minute each most of the time, if you are disabling tractor, you may get hit by a stray FAW and get interrupted. Just restart the disable and you will get them done quickly. REMEMBER NOT TO SHOOT ANYTHING ON THE WAY IN OR WHILE DISABLING TRACTOR BEAMS. YOU ARE ON DISABLE DUTY FOR THAT ROUND!

You can also split into 3 teams. Since most of the asteroids are kind of bean shaped, a careful pilot can fly to the underside arch of the asteroid and be just in range to disable the tractors without aggro on the Tholians. I can free a ship all by myself every minute and a half (including travel time between asteroids) without firing a shot. You miss out on loot drops from destroying Tholian ships, but Romulans can be freed at a faster rate.

If your teaming up with your team, split into 2 teams, 2 sci's with tractor beam repulsors, push all the enemies away from Rommie ship and then stick them in place with Gravity Well 3.

I've seen the repulsor beam strategy used before except the variation I saw them being pushed away, and someone holding their aggro while the ships were freed. It was refreshing to see my tac captain being rendered to just disabling tractor beams the whole time.

All of this is moot since this mission is hard capped at 18 Romulan Marks and 23 during the event.

This mission is at the top of my **** list as it is both hard-capped AND time-gated. Such nonsense.

Better off spending just a smidge more time and do Mine Trap.

Forget both of these silly missions, really. The best strategy for Azure Nebula Rescue is not to do Azure Nebula Rescue. The only winning move is not to play. If you want marks, get 'em elsewhere, the payout for these is just insultingly bad. Grind those rabbits!

Given that these missions are STF-level or more, with a full team required for Azure and a massive army for Mine Trap, they should pay STF-level payout...they don't. The pay is simply a joke.

Azura rewards so few ridiculous amount of marks and is such a boring mission the best strategy is to no play it at all.

Boycott it and maybe devs will notice the failure?

Omg how am I the only person that knows this. Easiest way to do it and you will max every time no matter what.

All 5 players in stalker fighters you run stealth cons. And the 3 part kling honor guard/adaptive Maco and have MES as the ablity. Then you have one person on each side. And the extra guy runs to the biggest spwn. I've gotten over 100 points consistently doing this and it will be faster then anything else.

I know what your thinking OMG this guy found a use for shuttles

A strategy which works well for a premade team and gets you the loot: send one ship to each asteroid, assign the fifth person to float and handle the biggest spawn. We routinely cap out with 2 minutes to go doing this AND get all the loot.

Might work in a PUG if people can actually do damage.

how about this: field some firepower and blast the tholians away.

heck even my crummy engineer in his crummy dreadnought can obliterate the tholians spawn and then just push the tarantula away with a quick round of tractor repulse.
