I could always use more tips to help my slow and fat cruisers to keep escorts out of my 6
And seeing for once Cryptic publicly endorse and speak about PvP is a nice change.
One thing, i am pretty sure if incentives and rewards were a bit more compelling, more people would show up in PvP matches and try them even if a victory was highly unlikely.
I do not mind being facerolled if i get something for it.
One last thing Cryptic, you really need to add some new maps for both Space and Ground PvP. It really could help revitalizing the whole thing a bit.
ok im going to say this weather people agree or not if you hate it i don't care
this is stupid why bring out pvp boot camp i mean i like pvp and im good at it but my only problem is that cryptic got hacked through pvp and loads of fleets lost there fleet so to speek so what im trying to say is this cut off boot camp till the start of the year and find the dam hacker who hacked pvp in the first place instead of giving the hacker another chance to destroy another fleet
end of the day pvp should be improve further till they find out who destroy the 13 fleets through pvp
If the PvP is balanced so that the advantage does not go to the team with the most DPS ships, then a Boot Camp will be a good introduction.
I did some PvP when I first joined, my team won some and loss many due to the composition and level of build/experience.
Hopefully the faction separation will be dropped, which can be done by using a game them that PvP are just war games by a joint FED-KDF fleet going out to fight the Borg/Tholians.
Finally, some variety in space and ground will be good, not just go fight each other and see who survives. Some real PvP that requires team work and strategy.
Most of what I learned about ship builds I learned from PVP.
I don't play it a lot because to be any good at PVP you HAVE to have a PVP build.
That said, my PVE builds are better for it, as I know what is going on.
I recommend that anyone who does this takes into account that building for PVP is limiting, and that you don't have to follow it exactly for PVE. Some of my favorite builds are trash for PVP, but are great, and fun to fly, in PVE.
However, it is entirely useful, so give the bootcamp a go! I will, I want the retrain token {:0p

I'll take any of my PvP builds or any of the other builds from PvPers against any PvE build any day.
PvE doesn't require anything other than sheer damage. If anything is narrow in scope it's the PvE builds (fail builds that are generally poorly balanced).

So true there are some things way too OP and then other things against them are completely useless +1 that
Balance is always a work in progress thought. It rarely is ever totally achieved. Look at Mass Effect 3 PvP, every week guns are buffed and some nerfed, classes modified and etc...
You got to work with what you have and make the best of it. But in the end, when looking at organized groups that does PvP, i am pretty sure that TEAM COORDINATION is the thing that affects the most games that ends 15-0 far more than ship and gear components.
I do not deny that their are some nearly unavoidable defeat moves like Ambush-Shotgun that happens often on ground but again, that works both way and coordinated teams will still have a better chance to minimize the potency of such assaults.
If the shotgun assaulter always gets the first kill but soon after is taken down by teamates then it is a 1-1 score and both teams are still in the match. Sure it sucks to be the one ambushed but if your teamates avenge you swiftly, it's all good.
I will call the game broken the day i see someone facerolling everyone on ground while being totally untouchable. We are not there yet.
