I know you can trade them for Dilithium, but didn't we need them to buy the Omega engine/ shield deflector sets on Tribble?

Are they only good for Dilithium now?
If your post is anything like, "I have a sandwich so you can't be starving" it's time to rethink posting.

They're for MkXII equipment only. It says so right in their tooltip.

One of my characters doesn't even get access to turn them in for Dilithium after doing more than 1 ESTF

You will need them to "purchase" the Mk XII MACO/Honor Guard/Omega pieces.
10 for each piece.

After doing an elite STF, the reputation thing *SUPPOSED* to open up to convert them to dilithium. But as I said earlier one of my characters it didn't happen while that opened up for others after completing an Elite.

Are they supposed to drop outside of Elite STF's?

I've never done an ESTF and I have 14 of them.

Actually got 5 at once the other day, helping to destroy the Borg Queen Ship in that particular STF.

10 BNPs can be obtained from the Tier 5 reward. BNPs were available from the Omega Conversion crate. So a bunch of unused EDC would give a bunch of BNPs.

Yeah, I only got 1 BNP with that conversion thingy They did.
