# 1 being the hero

I find it kind of fun to watch a battle between let's say a lt. commander fighting a fleet of Romulans in a DSE, waiting until he's down to 60% and charging in to clean up, giving him a boost with an engineering team III and attack pattern.

Might be overstepping but it's fun to play the hero kinda like in DS9 when the Defiant warps in to save the day guns a-blazin.

I'll never forget being a young Lieutenant battling Klingons in a DSE, and seeing a Rear Admiral fly in and destroy the ship I had been working on (for what seemed like hours) with a single Tricobalt torpedoe. I was in awe of his epic might.

I remember when I tried to take on a Terran Empire fleet as a Lieutenant. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed my revenge.

We all had ambitions at some point
My name may say "PWE member", but I will never be.

Yeah, I had that happen to me. I had the opposite reaction. I decided he was an overblown show-off, especially since I was doing perfectly fine (I mean after all, why can't a level 7 take on a Unimatrix and by himself? XP). Sufficed to say I had grudges against everyone that was a higher level than me until I hit 50, then I just stopped caring and blew crap up just as fast as they did, if not faster.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
Tired of Wasting EC and Time trying to get Superior Romulan Operative BOffs? Here's a cheap and easy way to get them, with an almost 100% chance of success.

I remember many times when my Captain level character was interfered with by some show off Admiral
usually in a lock box ship

They do not like being told to "Go Away"

This reminds me when I was on my first character (an engineer) in an NX class light escort.

Because I didn't understand how the 'get a new ship at ranking' system worked - I thought I needed to 'save' the tokens to get a Galaxy class (this was when F2P was first out) - I ended up holding on to it for a while longer than I should have. I ended up going to a LOT of Borg Red Alerts in that.

I liked to think I was doing something useful, hitting them while the bigger guys were distracting them.

With 11 months more experience, I can safely say, I was not.

I really wish that there was a viable reason to use lower level ships in end game content. I also wish shuttles and fighters could have some use.

MY BIG CHANCE

Yeah! Its really too bad, and a lot of us really liked the earlier models. I guess that's why the Devs added Retrofits and Fleet variants, but they still didn't do it right. The Nova (my dream) Retrofit is literally a Recon Science Vessel with less hull, less shields and 1 extra point of turn rate. C'MON!

Fleet variants ain't much better.

Correct me if i'm wrong. Been a long while!

When STO first started. The promotion system was different. You could continue to gain levels but still be the first rank of ensign or whatever.

So here I was flying around smashing everything, doing every mission over and over and hit level 14 ensign :/ If I remember right. Which is really a L4 LCMDR. Anyways another player told me that I had to fly to ESD and talk to the admiral to get promoted!

So I did. When I got promoted, I was a LCMDR 0? Lost those 4 levels. hehe

I was also in shock and awe of the higher level ships with that awesome power.
