Q: (starcommando101) Any news on the Dreadnaught getting a Fleet Version or Saucer Separation?
Dstahl: Animation is working out the kinks in the Saucer Separation for the Dreadnaught and once we have it ironed out, we plan to have an update to promote the new ability. Adding a Fleet variant is a possibility, but hasn?t been confirmed by the ship team as far as I know.
Q: (bridgern) Is the Dilithium Exchange with the exchange rate working as Cryptic wants it to work?
Dstahl: Cryptic does not set the prices on the Dilithium exchange. Players determine what they are willing to barter for and establish prices. Our intention is to ensure that players always have a consistent earning rate of Dilithium for a measured amount of normal game play. We monitor how much Dilithium players are earning hourly and adjust Dilithium Ore rewards accordingly. The benefit of a player driven exchange is that players with no Zen are able to trade the Dilithium they are earning so that they and can easily afford items they would not normally be able to. This allows players with no Zen the ability to get many items from the C-Store without ever spending a dime of their own money. This has been a goal of our F2P design to allow players to play and experience everything in the game without ever spending a dime. Compared to other F2P MMOs, we feel this is a very player friendly approach because the amount of Zen you can obtain via trades is only as much as the other player is willing to trade.
So, you do not want people to spend actual money on zen?
Other than lurking about and testing new recruits, Franklin Drake has been preparing for his appearance in the upcoming 3 Year Anniversary episode.
Thanks for answering my question.
2) The Dominion; around the time of our 3 Year Anniversary.
A Dominion lock box? Intriguing...
The other species were featured in the Enterprise series
That's great news. Enterprise is a massively under-appreciated series and I'm glad to see it getting more love in STO.
The Typhoon Class is a dreadnaught that will most likely not appear as a playable ship until we increase the skill point cap to full Admiral. Even then, we haven?t yet decided if this will be a player ship, but we can be convinced to make it so if there is enough support for it.
Might want to check your sources...the Typhoon is a battleship, not a dreadnought . That means that if anything, it should be inferior to the Galaxy-X Dreadought Cruiser.
Typhoon supporters, this is the time to beg like never before!
These hairstyles and foreheads are specifically reserved for when we offer Romulans and Cardassians as playable species (which will happen) because they are defining characteristics of those species.
Playable Cardies and Rommies are coming? Hmm...playable faction or playable species? I suspect the former for the latter, and the latter for the former.
Klingon PvE content from 1-50 with a solid PvE and PvP endgame. Plain and simple. Then after that, real Star Trek exploration.
good read, a couple of nice bits of information there. it didn't feel to me that this game had peeked, and was soon to be throttled back and put in a maintenance mode, im glad to hear that its nowhere near that point too. a new trek series, especially prime universe related and in the 25th century would be awesome, and likely the best thing that could possible happen to this game!
andorian ship sounds very premium, own bridge, big guns, will likly be at least as cool as the vet ships. is it the anniversary yet? im REALLY looking forward to the ambassador, and whatever the kdf is getting. my guess is a kvort, that ship has always been brel assets reused, and the same could be done in game.
so, the next lock box will be dominion eh? my first guess was breen, second guess was dominain, so i was close! maybe, just maybe the new lock box in season 8 will see a dominion rep and a gamma quadrant sector block added. would be the appropriate time to do it, what better time then with a lock box. finally, we would be able to use the worm hole! delta quadrant sounds fun too, there was that unstable worm hole in tng to the delta quadrant, if it could be made stable thats a reliable way to get to the delta quadrant too.
the alpha quadrant powers and dominion appear to be peacefully coexisting, and not bothering each other. there is great story telling potential here, especially if the unidine, and/or iconians start causing trouble. who knows, the borg could start being a problem for the dominion too, and no one in the galaxy has more experience holding them off then the federation.
