Hello and welcome to another edition of our Fan Art challenges! Since this is only the sixth one, please make sure to read the rules below. Also, feel free to post feedback about the rules/ challenge in the discussion thread linked below, as well as themes that you would like to see in the future.
Today we start the four-week run of the sixth Fan Art/ Screenshot Challenge: Alien Species
Create Fan Art or post a screenshot that shows off and depicts one of the in-game or custom alien species you have encountered or that you've made up. Feel free to choose the setting (e.g. on their planet, in your ready room, view screen, etc.) you would like.
This is the artist's thread -- only entries should be made here.
The Discussion Thread can be found HERE.
We also have an Index of previous challenges HERE.
The rules may change from one challenge to another, but I'd like to let everyone know what the base rules are. These may grow as we move on, so also feel free to give feedback!
Each Challenge will run for four weeks. For these four weeks we will sticky the challenge and let you make your entry.
There is no right or wrong entry.
ALL artwork needs to be your original creation. This is VERY IMPORTANT!
Feel free to submit your entry in any medium (e.g. 3D graphics, sketch, watercolor, oil, crayon, pencil, collage, etc. -- anything (appropriate)!)
You will need to upload your image to your own file sharing site/ service and link it in this thread.
[IMG] code has been turned on in this forum, but you must ensure that the image you display is no wider than 500 pixels -- feel free to link the image to the file sharing site/ service that has the full size image so we can see it in its full glory. NOTE: Images must be appropriate for the forums and fall within the set forum rules or action, up to and including a ban, may be taken on your account.
Please keep discussion about the entries in the appropriate Discussion Thread.
In the Discussion Thread, feel free to write what inspired you and what your thoughts on the challenge/ rules are.
There will be no voting/ winners. This is just for fun.
A few other important reminders:
Please heed the rest of the forum's rules when submitting your entry! All of them apply to these posts/ images.
Each poster can have one entry (or two if doing one for each faction). Feel free to edit your post or add/ remove content as you see fit during the next four weeks.
After four weeks time, the thread will be unstickied as we move on to the next challenge.
We'll have two threads: One to post the entries in and one to discuss the entries. **Cross-linking between these two threads is acceptable for these challenges ONLY!!**

It had been a long time, getting from there to here.
Over the course of his career in Starfleet, Fast Fingers had commanded many vessels, belonging to various species, but none had compared to what had been called, in hushed tones, the "Temporal Destroyer". The Mobius-class, they called it, said not only to be from another time, but another universe entirely. An unending loop, with no beginning or end. So was commissioned for him the I.S.S. Klein. With his economic expertise, there was no ship that energy credits couldn't buy for him. His time was finally here.
Fast Fingers would see his dreams come alive again. He thought back, to the nearly impossible taunting that had seemed to come from the scenario's programmer. Go... Goz... He couldn't place his finger on the name, fast as his digits might be. It was one that some had cursed, but that person had not been heard from in ages. Last Fast Fingers had heard, that programmer had been sent off to another dimension, as a result of antagonistic, slothful behavior unbecoming of a high-ranking Federation humanoid.
He thought back to the day he had touched the sky. After all, stardate 90558.2 had long since come and gone. The Starfleet personnel responsible for programming Combat Simulation 347 seemed to have no idea what he and his team had in mind, when they stepped forth into that holodeck. After many minutes, they had stepped out. The Civilian Transport was safe after ten waves of destructive terrors. The forces of the Federation had beaten the "No-Win Scenario". Nothing could hold him back anymore; nothing could change his mind.
Because Fast Fingers had faith. Faith that nothing could break or bend his ship, or the resolve of its crew. And it was proven, that he could do anything.
